Downtown Grand Rooms

Considering I only have a half of million to lose, I guess I won't be seeing the jacuzzi suite. <wink> <wink>
We found it hard to get the pit crew to take our cards to rate our play. The place was DEAD and yet..... couldn't be bothered. We'll give the place one more try on our next trip but if the service isn't any better (mind you there were about 10 people playing table games in the whole place!) we'll have to give it a miss on future trips.
stayed there last month on comps sent in the mail with very limited play.....agree with the shower assesment, and would add that it encourages water wasting, as i had the hot running for a while to dampen the "draft" before i got in. for me it had the fasted wifi of the places i stayed this trip (south point, harrahs). did not have any cups in the room...mentioned it at the front desk, and they said it was just an oversight...repeated....shallow sink restricts ability to wash hands as i'm accustomed to doing (work in a hospital) heavy bass from bar accross the street will shake your wall if you're facing that way (they get done about 1 or 2am) free morning coffee in the lobby/bar is hit or miss (50% success at getting some 2 of 4 tries). was ok for free, but if i'm paying i'll go to plaza or D as the grand's casino is probably bottom on my list.
BLucky7 - Thanks for the input! I haven't stayed there but would agree that the casino leaves a lot to be desired. We thought we'd stay there if we got a fairly good offer but so far nothing. Guess we'll keep staying at the Nugget.

I'll just share a positive service story regarding my last trip. My plane was running late so I requested a late departure....front desk hooked me up and let me stay in the room until 1pm without charge. When I left, I accidentally forgot my $600 IPAD in the room. I was about to get on the freeway to the airport when I got a call from the front desk again...the maid found the IPAD and returned it to the front desk and I was called...all within 20 minutes of checking out. I thought it was nice...and honest....and the quick turnaround saved me a heart attack of discovering the missing IPAD at the airport and scrambling to get it back.
