Downtown table minimums

I've recently read the strip casinos are raising table minimums to $10-$15.  What are the downtown casinos minimums?

L:ast week durig the week daytime $15 at The  D, $10 at 4 Queens.

September 24, 25th. DTG had $5 craps during the day until 7:00 pm.

I was on the strip 9/22-25. Nothing under $15 with surly dealers(CET and M life ) except Ellis Island. I couldn't get a ride downtown fast enough.

Folks, are we taking about the Las Vegas Strip, or Fremont Street.  These are two different animals.

Most blackjack downtown pays 6:5 on blackjacks. So, no matter how low the minimum, don't play that crapjack garbage. Look around until you find decent rules.  It's better to play a higher mimum with 3:2 than to play lower minimum at 6:5.  Say No to 6:5 ripoff!!!!!!

El Cortez has, as far as I know, the best single deck low minimum game downtown, possibly in Vegas. The problem with their game is they only deal 18 - 19 cards and then they shuffle. I asked the dealer why they did not deal deeper into the deck and was told that this was a management decision. At the 4 Queens, they have a blackjack offering 3:2 for blackjacks, but to play one must also play the sidebet. I refuse to play either of those games. As far as I am concerned, blackjack is dead - but it will continue to be played because the unknowledgable players continue to play and donate.

There are still plenty of 3:2 H17 double-deck games at the locals' casinos. In those games, penetration matters--primarily for counters, but deep penetration helps the casual player as well. If you subscribe to Current Blackjack News (see bj21.com), you can get the newsletter that details playing conditions at casinos nationwide--including reports of penetration and other factors. These games are easily beatable.

There's one casino in Northern Nevada that deals single-deck, double on any two cards, H17--and the minimum is $2! I always dropped in when I was in town and I could spread $2-20 and nobody cared. Ever. They generally deal two rounds to a full table (which is almost always the case) but will deal to about 2/3 of the deck to fewer players. It's the best game in Nevada, maybe on the planet.

I was downtown 10/21-10-25.  Most tables were $15 min with a few spatterings of $10 tables.  Most of our gambling was done at Golden Gate, and their $15 blackjack paid 3/2.  Normally I frequent the El Cortez but didn't this time.  I suspect they would have had plenty of $10 tables, but can't confirm this.

The Electronic Daisy Festival with 150,000 attendees was going on, which was interesting.  The hotels were all packed, but the casinos were not.  These folks spent most of their time at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  When they were around, it looked like a real life Scooby-Doo show.  They were friendly and certainly enjoying themselves.
