easy $100 rebate question ?

I have a question about these $100 rebates that newbies get when they sign up. I am a craps /poker player and will be of little help to my son on slot machines.
I am taking my son to Las Vegas (who is bankroll challenged) for his 1st trip ever and am thinking of having him sign up for his rewards card at the Plaza and other casinos that offer the $100 payback and then playing thru the hundred.
My question is, on day two when he goes back to play thru his re-bated $100, how does he know when he has played thru the $100? Does the machine count it down for you?

As far as I know, but check Plaza's website for sure in the Casino Promotions section, they don't give the $100 immediately out. It's spread out over some time.

But with Freeplay at Plaza/Las Vegas Club, for the machines that accept it (not all necessarily do), it's $1 of Coin-In per point. And so if there were $100 immediately, then once you earned 100 points, you could immediately stop playing.
