I get to Vegas only once a year but always stay at the EC. I noticed last year in early December that a bunch of tables now have constant shufflers, which is a shame, since the EC has always been home to the best conditions for low budget advantage play. Is this the future at the EC?
Yep - they installed two CSMs last year. Hopefully they won’t be adding any more. Still plenty of single and double deck games available so you don’t need to play on tables using the devil’s machine....

The only reason to frequent Downtown casinos is for player friendly gaming. I'm not a BJ player so I'm not impacted by the shufflers - but I have noticed worsening craps games.
The one that gets me is craps at MSS and California....both Boyd properties. MSS has 20X odds on craps which is fantastic. Accross the bridge at California its 2X odds which is completely awful.
I like the (easy to use) free odds bet in craps!
Double free odds is easy to place. That 4,5,6 rule is confusing to me.
10X or even 100X is just great! It's simple to place the correct amount behing your passers' and commers'
bets.
At the MSS ,I won a big load of money at craps,using max free odds bets. 2 reds and a black behind.$1,000+.
That was the night that I got a free wheel chair ride back to my room,blind-drunk. The next day,I thanked the 3 very large security dudes.They even cashed my chips out for me,the night B-4.

I saw the shufflers on my last visit in June I made sure everyone with me a party of 11 went up at different times to say they would not play those games. Doubt it did anything but the pit bosses did not dispute it
Ever since the El Cortez was bought it ha gone downhill for gamblers. Many of the playable machines are gone. Now the shufflers. Comps have also dried up. The El Cortez is now off of my list. Those who gamble there now can enjoy being fleeced.
I'll go there to find a double-deck BJ game.No CSM's!
They sent me a 2 night comp,but I won't go this year.

I was told that the Cortez actually installed the drink light system at all the video poker bars there this year. Can this be true of this old downtown joint? I used to stay and play there a fair amount and liked the dive atmosphere. I’ll be moving on if this is true.
