El Cortez BJ

About to head out for my trip to vegas with friends. Since I am kind of the ring leader I always feel responsible for everyone having a good time. Can I assume the Tez is still dealing a decent 5 dollar BJ game. Is it the best game downtown or am I missing a place

Unless things have changed since November 2014, at least El Cortez's $5 Minimum Single deck game should still be at the very least the lowest casino advantage offering Single Deck game.

Just make sure to avoid the infernal "Royal Match" side bet. The Wizard of Odds says that this bet offers a casino advantage of almost 4% (Four Percent), more like 3.77%!

Double deck is also usually $5 minimum during non-busy times - best rules you can find downtown....

I was feeling ballsy (drunk) late one evening and played the Royal Match side bet at Terribles (now Silver Sevens). On the first hand, I hit 2 queen of hearts, $300. I know its a dumb risk, but still feel the urge to put $1 down every now and then.

My g-friend and I spent a LOT of time at El Cortez during our June 10 - 15 stay at Golden Nugget. Trip report is in that section. We LOVE the royal match side bet, she wins on it constantly!!!!! I don't bet it often but it's fun and love the single deck 3/2 payoff.
