El Cortez for a while now (at least since 2014) has said that you can get a room night comped during the week for 2,000 points earned (point multipliers are excluded for figuring out points earned) in a day and for Weekend and Holiday nights it takes 3,000 points earned to get a night comped.

True, but I wasn't staying there - just playing. But, yeah, I've seen those promos. I'll probably chase down Nords on my next visit and review my play before I leave.

I understand that but what I'm getting at is that it might be that El Cortez won't offer any other kind of offer for comped nights if you don't earn 2,000 points in a day during the week and 3,000 points in a day for a weekend night.

But hopefully, you can get some kind of comped deal through the host!

Refresh my memory gang: How much coin-in equals 1 point at VP? Coin-in for 1 point on slots?

Its 1 dollar=1point for both VP and slots - which is amazing. I'm not aware of any other place that awards VP at the same rate as slots.

At least according to the Slot Club information within the https://www.vpfree2.com/casino/el-cortez-hotel-casino/club website for El Cortez Casino, that is not completely true. With the Non-TITO 99%+ machines it's $3 of coin-in per point.

That presents a discrepancy with El Cortez's players club site. I'd be interested to have someone verify which is correct.

El Cortez Players club site:

How do I earn Points?
Every $1 you play on any slots earns you 1 point. Every $1 you play on most of our video poker machines earns you 1 point.

Notice that in the second sentence of the answer to the "How do I earn Points?" question it says that, "Every $1 you play on most of our video poker machines earns you 1 point." Notice that word "most" in there. That means some of the machines take more coin in to earn the player a point.

And so that fits right in with what the link that I provided from the VPFree2 website which says that the machines that are Non-TITO (these are the old coin droppers) that have a return on them of 99% or higher need $3 of coin in played through them for the player to earn a point.

And so for some of the VP it takes $1 of coin in to earn one point and for some of the VP machines it takes $3 of coin in for the player to earn one point.

makes sense. So the moral of story is to stay out of little room by the Subway. I primarily play at the lounge bar and Keno bar so I'm good. thanks for sharing info
