I know these are rooms that are inside the casino and that you have to walk up the stairs to get to them. Are they decent rooms, do they have a coffee maker or a refrigerator. Are they noisy? Thanks

Not to be flippant, but if you call the El Cortez I am sure that they could answer your questions.

I've stayed in those rooms many times over the years. First and foremost, they are quite small, the bathrooms in particular. While they didn't used to be, they are now normally equipped. I believe you have to request a fridge, though.
The rooms are directly above the casino and the noise does penetrate. You're a little bit better off with the rooms on the outer side of the corridor, but not much. Especially since any outward-facing room at the EC gets an extra dose of the noise from Container Park.
The best EC rooms are still in the Tower. If your timing is right, you can even get one of the suite rooms for regular price. I wouldn't stay across the street at the former Ogden House--"Cabana Suites"--those rooms are just plain weird.

They just revamped the original rooms last year so everything is pretty fresh. They even have "suites" in that part of the hotel you can usually score just for asking. I've stayed in all their room varities over the years and never had a bad experience once. The Tower Rooms are indeed the nicest (and most quiet).
