El Cortez vs. Main Street Station?

Been staying at MSS for years. Rooms aren't much, but I like the vibe of the place, full-pay VP at the bar, with no slot club penalty, as well as 10-7 DB and (decent) 9-6 DDB at the denoms I like to play. Last year, I finally realized that the place is a little isolated and that the east end of Downtown is rallying nicely. So I stayed at the El in January, and liked it a lot. Not as clean as MSS, weird free-drink rules in the Parlour Lounge that I kind of got around, a little bit of a pinch-penny feel, but I have a better offer. Probably better food. (I don't like buffets.) Right across the street from beloved Le Thai. So now I have to decide. Do I just ditch the MSS after all these years? Breaking up is hard to do. Maybe the walk back and forth to the East Side would do me good.....
One option would be to stay at both. Start at one place and move to the other halfway through your stay. Moving is a bit of a hassle.but we look at it as two mini vacations.
Just in town for four days, doing a sort of uptown, downtown thing. Already got two of them at The Beloved Cosmo.
I like both just fine, but I'm a pretty no-frills guy. I've started staying at the El Cortez more because I get better offers. I don't think I'd break up with one for the other one, but I think you'll find either of them to be good mates, to use the same analogy.

It's coming down to the better offers. And they're coming from the El. So I guess I am breaking up with MSS.
Tough decision. As a fellow VP player, MSS and ElCo are my two favorite places downtown. I slightly prefer MSS (I do like buffets and their brewpub). But if that isn't an issue, go for the best offer!
After weighing the pros/cons of each property and pricing them out (weekend rates) we settled on the MSS. Got two nights in June (Saturday & Sunday) for about $100 + tax.
