Lately this Mother Lode has gotten worse. Now all you get are food coupons and very little free play coupons. The promotion used to be much better with $25 and/or $50 free play coupons accuring very frequently.
The deli sandwiches have gotten a bit smaller as well. The pastrami sandwich used to rival what you would get in a real Jewish deli (I'm originally from NYC), but the quality AND quantity have lessened.

I was there at Halloween and got 5, 25, and 50 all on the same day. (As I wrote)
And I got the $50 on another day of my trip.
I think it is just "the luck of the draw'.
I am sad they took away my beloved club sandwich from the cafe. I would enjoy those every trip!
There is a trip report posted elsewhere by a regular player who had the same observations at Don. He was told by a local that indeed there was a change in the better award frequency, making the promotion less valuable. Yes, some will get the better prizes, just far less than before!
If there was more research into the declines and they were discussed, I think the article could have been more beneficial to the reader.
How would I have researched the "declines" if they exist?

As I understand it, the free play can only be used on certain machines with a green sticker. What is the best VP to play the freeplay on and where are these located?
I've heard there is some sort of card swipe machine error at Binions that's been going on forever . Does anyone know anything about that?

The best play is the 8/5 BP located by the deli in a semi-circle around the old poker room, now a showcase for new slots. There are three machines in the middle that have a progressive RF at the $.25 level.

To Don the Dentist, thanks for the response. I have been off the the LVA forums for some time, recently reactivated. and I know that you have been posting for a long time.
Are you a local? Maybe we can meet in person. I will be at MSS next week, and by next Wednesday or Thursday should have enough comps to get someting at the Brewpub at MSS. If you are interested, I could turn this into an informal members meet.
