Fitz to change name

I recieved an e-mail from them today stating that any points etc. that you have on your card will
count as double towards any Fitz Logo items, they said soon they will be announcing a new name
for the property. I wonder how they will choose this new name, hope they don't use the same
people who came up with the " Downtown Grand " previously known as the Lady Luck.
The name has already been chosen...it'll be the "D", from what I've heard.
Hiya,

Found this article regarding the "new name" for Fitz.....

Per my response above....

Type in "Fitz" then SEARCH....

God I sure don't understand this new name.
wonder what they will do about outside signage.
Fitz has some of the brighter more colorful outside signs. They help light up Fremont St.
I guess "D" stands for "Downtown."
Sometimes I question the sanity of some of these execs.First the name change for the Lady Luck, and now this.
Or it's "D" for Derek, as Derek Stevens is the new majority owner.

I believe the name is being changed because the Fitzgerald's trademark is owned by Don Barden's casino company, Majestic Star (there are also Fitzgerald's casinos in Colorado and Mississippi). Mr. Barden died last year, and his wife wanted to get rid of the casino (from what I've heard).
Heard they are still searching for a better name than "D" so stay tuned for "Name that Casino" round two.
