Fitzgerald questions

We are considering staying at the Fitz for a week in April, even though the poker room is apparently closed, and have some questions. Do they have any "mini-suites" larger than the regular rooms but costing less than high-rollers suites? The comped breakfasts -- do they include them for each day or is it just for a max of three regardless of how many days you pay for? Any time restrictions on when they can be used? Thanks for any help.
We were there Friday for breakfast.
The place was dirty.
The staff in the restaurant had bad attitudes and were more interested in chatting among themselves. except for one waitress who was good.
The service was very fast - because the skillet was precooked - and only warm when served.
The coffee was old and stale.
The Construction crew were drilling the floor above the restaurant - it was LOUD.
We had planned to do the Kevin Burke Show/Steak Dinner combo that night but didn't. We were glad to get out of the place.
My advice would be to also check out some other downtown hotels.
I stayed there a couple years ago and will NEVER stay there again. It was dirty, smoky and the staff, if you could call them staff, were Lazy and slow. but i did win there but even that is not enough to bring me back..EVER!
New owners are renovating and rebranding and should be done by then. They also own the Golden Gate and have done a good job with that,in fact putting up new tower. If you could hold off a few more weeks you could get a different opinion.

I dont think I'd stay for a whole week....one or two nights might be ok...at least until the renovation is complete. Its reputation is being a very good value with no frills. If you want room service and a staff that gives a shit then you are at the wrong place. But the rooms are ok for the price and should be better after the refresh. Avoid the coffee shop/buffet like the plague. In fact I think it might be infected with the plague.

I love the Fitz casino but you can score rooms at the El Cortez for about the same price and they are superior.
I hope they plan on purchasing new beds. The last time I stayed there the bed was terrible.
I stay there often on comped rooms. I like the casino and the rooms are very plain and only semi comfortable. However, I'm looking only for a place to lay my head for 5 hours a night and it suits me well. Other than that, I'm on the go...
