Fitzgeralds.

Can anyone tell me about staying at Fitzgeralds I will be there in May and looking for a good little place to stay Sat and sun before checking in at westgate P.H We have never been to this part in seven years going to vegas and would like to check it out.

Thanks for any help
We are staying at Fitzgeralds on a Saturday night at the end of March. It's risky, but I'm happy to report that I've done extensive research on this website and have noticed that people don't have problems with Fitz...in fact, the gambling is great, the rooms while small, are clean and serve the purpose. We then move to Planet Hollywood, which I was so happy about, but when I read the reviews, there are a LOT of people that complain about P-Ho because of the noise and confusion that the casino is. Sooooo, I'll report back after March and let you know about both properties.
I would have to differ on the Fitz. My "purpose" of a room, is to be fancier than my home. The Fitz fails in every possible level here. I guess if I lived in an old trailer home, that was incredibly small, rusted and was parked next to hundreds of other noisy trailer then it might, just might serve that purpose.

Of course, I am a fussy bastard so your mileage may vary
I stayed there once a couple years ago.....NEVER again. It was dirty, falling apart and the entire hotel smelled from all the smokers. one night was all i could stand, checked out early.

any other picks for that area Looked at Queens but the dates I needed was booked. I do like a good room but as you know when do you stay in your room in Vegas lol
Again, it depends what your expectations are. If you're looking for glitz and glitter, marble sinks, and a fancy room with flat screens and shades that move, don't stay here. However, if you're looking for a clean, Holiday Inn standard room with little perks, this is fine.

We've stayed here many times and never had a problem. However, when we're in Vegas, our policy is NOT to hang out in the rooms. I've had free suites at Venetian, Palazzo, and MGM "wasted" because I barely stepped foot in them, other than sleeping. If you're like me, this type of room will be fine.

If you plan to hang in your room, enjoy the perks, and want it to be better than home, you'll become quickly bored and/or addicted to TV, since there is not much more to do here.

So....decide what you need and go from there. For me, my hotel is a clean place to sleep. The vacation is outside of the room. For others, vacation means a fancy room with marble and amenities. I spend my heavy money in the city, not in the room. It's all about what YOU like.

PS. Pretty much any room downtown will be similar, except for the Golden Nugget, which I found newer, but still basic.

Golden Nugget, Rush tower junior suite.
Thanks kohler

will wait to hear your report

Fitz is probably fine for one night. 4-Queens next door is just a few dollars more and noticeably better quality in almost every respect.

The Fitz is a true low roller joint - and thats not a bad thing and it has alot of charm in its own way. Its cheap, clean, shabby, and friendly....and thats the way people seem to like it.
