The Flame---really?

1) Typical. I ate at the Sterling Brunch last week and was told when I made reservations there were no cutoffs, tank tops or flip-flops. I saw one guy wearing all three.

2) Don't care about decor

3) I would have said something

4) I know the feeling. I would have said something about it.

5) I despise well-done steaks. If it's cooked more than medium-rare, I'm getting another one.

6) A la carte pricing typical at steakhouses.

7) Nice to know that.

8) Also nice to know.

9) As would I.

10) I won't waste my time going there. Thanks for the report.
A well done steak is culinary crime. It should come with a couple of pieces of charcoal on the side.

Your report is informative and helpful.

A well done steak is not well done!

The customer is right, even when he's wrong.

I don't like well-done steaks, either, and most decent steak places will put out a caveat that they can't guarantee the tenderness of well-done steaks, but if you like your steaks that way and it is not cooked to your liking, by all means send it back.

You are the customer, it is your money (or the result of your willingness to wager your money in the casino). End of story.

And a big agreement on the creamed corn. It's my favorite side there. I've always had good results with the asparagus there. Funny, I don't mind paying for those sides, but I just have a hard time paying for a baked potato, even though that's how a lot of places price things these days.

Everyone has their own taste in food and how it should be served that's for sure. Personally, i feel that if you cut into a steak and blood starts flowing onto your plate and mixing with the rest of your food, you might as well just have them bring you a young calf and start chewing on him while he is alive. The blood will be just as warm. Oh, and just as disgusting.

Just saying.

"The steak comes all by itself ($24), nothing else just a white dinner plate with a slab of steak on it. The steak itself was good, nothing special mind you, not particularly tender or tasty ($24) No A-1 sauce offered."

This is why I like these forums. I know of several other Vegas traveler's who have said the same thing. That's why I won't be eating at the Flame anytime soon.
I've never had a bad meal there. Yes, its ala carte but thats not a secret - nor is it uncommon in town. The coupon makes the food cheap...but when you consider how easy it is to accumulate comps at El Cortez it becomes dirt cheap. I've never paid more than $15 for a meal there and I get everything - appetizer, wine, entree, sides, and dessert.

Once you achieve Saphire level in the club (I think $3000 coin in) the restaurant prices get discounted. And when you pay with points its discounted even more. And then add the coupon on top of that for the remaining cash balance.

I make it a point to always go there to eat and one of my favorite things is the choice of breads. Now, I haven't been there in almost a year, but everytime I've gone there are three types of bread--a regular hard roll, a cranberry nut type (or something) that was fantastic, and another kind that I can't remember now. Are you saying that you don't get the three anymore? I usually dine alone and still got the three. What a bummer--I loved that cranberry one!!
The wife and I have been to the Flame twice and enjoyed it both times. The first time they gave us a basket of rolls and the second time we each picked one from the basket. This doesn't matter to us because one roll is enough anyways. If not, just ask for more.

I agree with the poster who said a well done steak is culinary crime. I like the fact that the steak is on its own plate. That way all the blood wont mix with the other food. As much as I like rare steak, I dont want bloody mashed potatoes.

As far as the flat screens showing the vineyards and such, who cares? I don't go to restaurants to watch TV. I would go to the Flame even without a coupon. With the LVA coupon, it's a no brainer. IMO, its one of, if not the best, coupon in the book.
