Flame Rest. ElCortez

I just got an e-mail from the ElCo. stating that the Flame rest. is open Wed-Sun
from 5-10 pm. along with all there other promo's etc, I didn't think that they
were closed Mon and Tues. before ? This was from there August promo e-mailer.
Thats a bummer. They also used to open at 4pm which I really liked.Sign of the times I guess.
I noticed on their web site that they were now closed on Monday and Tuesday. I hope that's not a harbinger of bad things to come. I remember when the Pullman Grille at MSS was open every night, then it was only open a couple of nights per week, then it became the luggage staging area for all the Hawaiian junkets, but never reopened as a restaurant.

Yep, I was there one week ago today (Tues. 7/24) and waitress said they'll no longer be open on Mondays and Tuesdays . Funny thing is, we didn't have reservations, and were put on a ONE HOUR wait for a table. I think it has more to do with poor management than lack of business IMHO.

I think Pergande hit the nail right on the head. We were there a month ago and the host advised there was a 45 minute wait. OK, we played some more and went back 40 minutes later. The host was now replaced by a hostess, a rude hostess, who indicated we would not be seated for at least another 45 minutes. When I told her to "forget it" and turned towards the door, she quickly responded "wait a minute and I'll see what I can do". She sat us 2 or 3 minutes later at one of the half-dozen empty tables in the dining room. At no point during our meal were there any fewer than 5 empty tables. That said, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal (crab legs and steak) and our waiter (Mark) was wonderful. But, we still left with a bad taste in our mouths (no pun intended) because of the hostess. The slow death of this terrific steakhouse is terribly sad.
I'm sorry to hear that. Our anniversary falls on a Monday this year and we'd planned on eating at the Flame that night.
My wife and I went to the Flame in April. The room was half empty and they told us it would be a one hour wait. When I told the hostess , never mind we'll go elsewhere, we were seated immediately. It sounds to me like they are doing this to get people to risk more money in the casino.

I think you hit the nail square on the head. Lets offer a great placed to eat at lower prices but get our $$$ by forcing the customer to wait in the casino.
We went to Flame this past Thursday. We did make a reservation. We also had Mark (said he's tall Mark) We also had steak & crabs legs. We usually only stop there once each trip. We were delighted to learn that we are now Sapphire which means that we get half off our meal as long as we have enough comp. Mark worked out our meals between our 1/2 off using comp & cashback that it was all covered with each of our cards.

I played quarter multistrike for about 10 mins and made $300 (had a quad on the top line) and also had a $500 deuces at the bar next to Flame. I have had unbelieve luck at ElCo.
Judy, nice hit on the deuces; did you try one of those specialty martinis during happy hour? Plan on eating at the Flame on Friday Sept 10th...will definitely make reservations. It seems that the " It will be a 45 to 60 minute wait" for walk up customers is standard procedure.
