Great question!
What does room service have? Just food from their main kitchen or do they also deliver food from different eateries inside their hotel?
Can I order Pizza Hut?Dominoes?Chick Fillet in the Golden Nugget?
For a lot of people, coffee in the morning is REQUIRED and they don't care how much it costs.
I'm guessing that parking would be a barrier to any of those types of delivery services to Vegas hotels. Not worth the long walk from a parking garage, the time it would take.
There used to be a prohibition against outside food (and beverage) delivery to Strip hotels. Competition. Some used to prohibit guests bringing styro coolers in.
Security: Would the delivery person be required to show a room key to a security person at the elevator, or is there an agreement to let them go up? And do you really want a stranger coming into your hotel room? Maybe meet them at the front door/lobby? I don't recall seeing any of those guys, come to think of it.
Bottom line, I don't know, but good question. Send it in as a QoD.
Yes - the food delivery apps will go to a hotel....and you can also use PrimeNow with Amazon to get groceries.
Some of the casinos have partnerships with the local eateries on Fremont. (IE) Downtown Grand with Triple George....El Cortez with Therapy. Pretty sure you can order direct to your room and even use comps to pay.
Personally I dont want any food in the room unless I'm sick. It tends to make a mess and then stinks up the garbage can thereafter. But to each there own.
I have used Instacart to get delivery to the el Cortez. I had water juice snacks etc delivered. I had to double tip once to the instacart driver and to the bellhop at the Tez who put it on a cart to get to my room. But well worth it.
Adam just answered Candy's question. The delivery people may NOT be allowed into the hotel for deliveries.
It depends on the hotel policy. They may be stopped in the lobby.
It may be OK if security would go with the delivery person. It depends.
Key code to operate the elevator.....Security can.
All the food apps allow for texting between driver and customer....so if there are issues with security in the lobby they can text you to come down and pick it up. Thats also a common issue with hi-rise condo/apartment buildings.
Most places I've stayed downtown, you need a room key to operate the elevator, so you'd have to meet the guy in the lobby. You might be able to work out some kind of deal with the valet/bellhop. But now, with multiple tipping, your pizza costs $30--maybe better to just order room service.
I finesse this problem by blowing all my money so I can only afford the $3 breakfast special at the Golden Commode anyway.
I believe you can Uber Eats at all the hotels, you just need to meet them down by the Uber pick up area
A few years ago I arranged for a local grocery (Van's?) to deliver booze and bottled water to us at the Linq. There was some confusion about how the stuff would be delivered (I think because they wouldn't hold it for me at the desk and I wasn't in the room). I eventually had to meet the driver in the lobby, but he gave us a couple bottles of vodka free for our trouble. (Svedka vodka, but, still.....)
