FOUR QUEENS

Has anyone stays at the four Queens lately. We have stayed at the GN since 1997 for every visit (6 per year). I'm not going to pay the prices they are asking for Sun and Mon. Jan 27th. and Jan 28th. Really do not like the Strip but the prices they want I will go to Wynn or Mirage. The World Furniture has a meeting in town that week. The prices are sky high at the GN. Yes I have enough points to stay at the Nugget but it now becomes a challenge.
If I understand you, you stay at the Nugget 6 times a year and have for the last 15 years and they want you to pay for a room? You do need to find another "home" casino, one that will treat you right.
Sorry just told 1/2 of the story. Been a Private Arrangement member since 1997....they have since discountinued it and no longer take inmembers. I was grandfathered into it. They use to put out new cards each year and stopped that in 2009. Told me just to be sure to save card and use the card for simple things like upgrades (have gotten several) and line passes at places like Carson Street---buffet--and room reservations. The rest of the story is my wife and I both had a host and for the most part handled things very good. Then one year a few years back we had friends accompany us out to LV and they wanted to travel around. No big deal we kept our room at the GN but really was doing a lot of hopping from casino to casino all around LV. We managed to show them LV in about 5 days even with a trip to Oatman. Well on the 6th day I had a message to contact the host and during the conversation she indicated my play was not up to where she felt it was supposed to be. Well I flew off the handle and told her (not proud of conversation) to shove my account up her !@#!. So before the next trip I set up a real decent line of credit and explained the host deal and was not interested in what they had to offer with the services of a host. As it stands now they do comp Anthony's--Grotto, and Carson Street any time we request it. As far as PA at one time I had 42 free nights built up still have several let in my account. At the present time we more or less use the GN as a winding down place in the evening and our play is about 50% of what it use to be. On the other hand I'm not obligated to stay there and give them so much play. I like the deal the way it is now. As far as the room charge they will comp at least 2/3 nights usually weekends for us. The day the host called and ask me to stop in the office to discuss my play was the day I really figured screw you. Have a lot better time than worrying about my play and enjoying myself a whole lot more on trips. After the Steve Wynn era---Tim and Tom era---and now Landry's era it a a closed deal. Steve Wynn the the best of all three.
Yes, I had a 2 night comp there on my most recent trip (in November) Plus $20 in Freeplay. I'm a fairly low level player and they definitely have better Video Poker at lower levels than does Golden Nugget. I just get a usual room, but I think that they also have other kinds of rooms so you would have to check into that!

RecVPPlayer thanks for the reply----We just felt that even though we like the GN a lot and hated like hell to move into another hotel it was time to make a change. Being that the GN is sold out Monday night 28th. and Four Queens was avaiable. We just figured we only had two days left we could actually start packing one suit case and wing it from there. We still could have had a room at the GN but it really came down to the principle of the price per night as much as we visit there it was stupid. We are maybe it mid-range players range but only manage about 4 hours per day at the GN. Rest of the time we are on the move Wynn--GVR---M---Red Rock---Suncoast are among our favorites. Biggest reason we have about jumping around is we get bored in one casino after so long and need the break. Again thnaks for the reply and we are giving the Four Queens a shot.
You're very welcome, Greek! I'm happy to help! I like that Four Queens has better VP (at least 9/6 Jacks, 8/5 Bonus and 10/7 Double Bonus Poker at lower denominations) than GN and that additionally it takes a lot less coin-in (I'm sure) at Four Queens as opposed to GN to get offers out of them. So do check it out!

Enjoy!

RecVPPlayer------Giving the Four Queens a shot. For the first two--three years we visited Las Vegas could not get enough of the Strip. Everyone needs to stay on the Strip at least 3--4 times when first visiting Las Vegas. Over the years we have stayed at Bally's Wynn's, Bellagio, Mirage Excaliber, and Rio. As I said enjoyed it everytime but the older you get the walking takes it toll on the body. Now you can't drag me away from Downtown after dark, Enjoy the Strip during the day and to take in a show but then it's back to Downtown for us. Could have booked Paris for about the same price Queens $49. Paris was only $55 each night for the two nights but would be lost on the Strip after dark. I like Downtown for the reason if I want to get up and go to another casino it just a short jump and you are there.
I just had room booked at the 4Qs Dec 27-29. Perfectly adequate room. Depends on the level of comfort you expect. I did not use the room I booked because I was double booked with a room also at the Palms. The Palms was a higher level of comfort from the 4Qs so I slept there, but I would have been happy with the 4Qs room. I equate it with a Harah's room...mid-level.

Well ended up booking the Four Queens for 2 nights. As I was reading under Downtown Hotels and Attractions the topic was 4Queens Rooms seen there may be problem with some rooms and the code 300 and it's meaning. The only 300 I want on any room that I book is room number 300 not code 300. We ended up booking Paris. We really don't like the Strip that much but feel better booking Paris. I made the mistake of reading some comments from any poster and decided Four Queens. All hotels have problems in one place or the other but I don't need a horror story before my visit. Hell the Strip will be a real change of pace for us. We have not stayed on the Strip for quite a few years. Last Stay was Wynn and had three comped nights.
One thing to remember about Four Queens is if you have a car,you need to get the ticket punched or you'll have to pay for parking.
