March is a dead period for promos because the NCAA basketball championships draw in huge crowds, plus the month is a very pleasant time of year weather-wise and a lot of visitors are sick of winter back home.
Agree. Our March 4Q offers have been weak for years, always make me worry about a major downgrade but they generally normalize in a month or two.

I received the same postcard. It won't be long before the 4 Queens starts having a rip off "resort" fee.

This is not great but it's nothing new. Their offers have always been weak or non-existent in March. They're not alone in that, either.
It's just that March is such a heavy visitation month, the casinos don't feel they have to offer any enticements. It's pretty much Vegas Visitor 101 to not visit during big conventions, major sporting events, etc. No bargains then.

I personally have expected the downgrading of my offers from the 4 Queens ever since they downgraded and removed many of the machines that offered 10/7 Double Bonus which was where most of my play was made. The sprucing up of the rooms and the casino, along with the influx of no brainer "entertainment" games will eventually make the 4 Queens no different than the other casinos downtown.

I hope not. This has become my go-to place when I visit. Magnolia's is awesome despite it being somewhat expensive. Their generous comp earning rate along with coupons makes it manageable. (Try the gumbo!)
If this starts to increase on the suckage scale I am not sure where I will go next. I like VP - so Rio? I am an out-of-towner otherwise I'd be hanging out at Emerald Isle/Rainbow. I need someplace with a hotel!

My recommendations:
1. Say to hell with Vegas and visit Reno. Plenty of decent VP, nice hotels, and everything's cheaper. And it's not a goddamn pizza oven for half the year.
2. Stay in Henderson at Sunset or Green Valley--both nice hotels. Play and eat at EI/Rainbow. Sunset and GV do have a few decent VP machines and some nice restaurants.
3. Or just go to Reno
4. Stay at the Four Queens and watch everything get slowly crappier. Inhale as much smoke as if you were in the middle of a forest fire.
5. Reno.
6. But what about all that Vegas glamor, excitement, the $11 bottles of beer and the $28 pastrami sandwiches?
7. Reno. Really.
Went back 5 years looking at my calendars. You guys are absolutely correct. March is pretty "meh". Just the one regular free play offer. But April bounces back with additional free play offers.

Thanks for the advice. The only issue is I can reasonably drive to Vegas or Laughlin. Reno is a flight.
I haven't been to Laughlin in ages and from what I can see the VP paytables suck.
Reno might be in the cards.
