Well I have stayed at damned near every 3 star hotel in vegas so I think I know 3 stars, and I stayed at the fremont last September.
(Plaza, Samstown,Boulder station, Golden nugget, Ballys, Sands, Stratosphere, Sahara, etc, to name a few)
So based upon that sampling,
#1The Fremont has smaller rooms for a 3 star, but hell the price is always low which makes it a good value, so who cares? and I dont stay too much in the room, so I am good with it.
#2 The rooms were nicely appointed, (up dated in the late 1990's, early 2000's???) nothing your gonna write home about, but nice.
#3 The room was 'very" clean - zero issues with cleanlyness
#4 I was on the opposite side of the Hotel from Fremont Street, so there were no noise problems
#5 I think the Fremonts buffet is king on fremont street, for price, selection, quality and setting. if you get a 2 for 1 its the best hands down.
#6 They have a $3 craps table
One oddity though for this hotel that I had never seen in another hotel, they put the damned face cloths and towels "inside" the shower with you (on a rack)! The second odd thing was, when I took a shower they really didnt seem to get wet?
I would not hesitate to stay at the Fremont, I am trying the plaza in May just because they are new up dated rooms, and who can beat $29 a night?Otherwise I "would" do the Fremont again.
Good luck Weggie
