Fremont is a freek show

Sorry, the post was meant as a joke. I LOVE downtown. I think it's the closeness and the lack of pretension. Of our 35 or so trips I think we've stayed at places not downtown maybe 4 times and never in the past 6 years. It is my favorite place to people watch.
ramphreak not need to be sorry I just was giving my opinion. It was hard to get me Downtown but in 1997 we tried it liked it and after 75+ trips since then it will be hard to take us out of Downtown. Been through the Steve Wynn era (never will be the same)-----the Tim and Tom show---now the Landry's take on it. Fremont Street was IMO was the ideal touch for Downtown. Mayor Goodman (both0 have really taken the interest in the Downtown area and I fell if not for Mayor Oscar Downtown would be a dust bowl by now. It is not everyone cup of tea but for us we visit the Strip to eat and gamble a little and run back to the Golden Nugget before dark. Visit the Strip after dark by a drive through just for memories.
