Fremont?

Fremont is one of those spots that I always stop by to play for a bit, have a drink and move on. It never really leaves an impression. I do remember having a coupon for the buffet, but it was not good. (maybe an off night?)

Anyone stayed at the hotel? How was it?

marko..
I stayed there once years ago and they had shutters in their rooms which I did not care for since I like darkness when I sleep. Also, unless the bathrooms have been remodeled, the towel rack was inside the back of the bathtub (which I thought was extremely unusual)!

ive stayed, played and drank. the rooms are small, a/c is not the best, tiny bathroom, and the lack of room darkening curtains sucks if ur a night owl like me. basic lodging at best. don't expect much and it will be fine. the main bar is very busy with it's $2/$3 beer specials. teens standing at the entrance were trying to get me to buy beer for them. I have been a bconnected member for a long time, thought I might get some good room offers but I did not. I played BJ $15-$20 a hand for a long time in that dump and got nothing. at the bj table the dealer was nice but drink service was lousy. and now for the finer points: (crickets)
Have to agree that the rooms are extremely small and lack amenities but if all you want is a place to crash after a night on Fremont street it will work. Worst experience we had there was when there was a power outage due to a storm and we were on the top floor. No A/C, no lights, no elevator and no windows to open. That said, I do like the weekend brunch buffet...partially because I don't feel like I am eating in a school cafeteria like some buffets. I try and do some play there whenever I am downtown and that has kept offers flowing.

I have stayed there MANY times. The Fremont is my go to place on solo trips because I get a clean room (yes small) at a cheap price so I can use that money for gamboling. The hotel itself is placed right in the middle of Fremont so wherever you are your never very far from your room(great if your hammered drunk!). The hotel elevators are very near the valet area and you never wait long for your car there.
The buffet does not have a super amount of options but its good and not expensive. I save my LVA 241 coupon and try to use it on Tuesday or Friday nights all you can eat crab leg meal. The Fremont's buffet kicks the crap out of the over priced buffet with less options that you will find at The Golden Nugget.
My wife (the princess) how ever would not give the same glowing review of the Fremont or its rooms so when she goes we stay at the nugget, but still eat at the Fremont's buffet.

BTW I just got an offer to upgrade a room reservation there and it pointed out that my room was a standard room of 240 SF. I think that probably includes the bathroom, closet and entry so that gives you an idea of how small they are.
Fine for a guys gaming/golfing trip---but I don't think I'd ever take "bride" to Fremont for an over night stay.
Weekend Champagne brunch is pretty good. With MRB it's great. Waiter friendly. Win.
