GN,GG,Plaza or MSS

Called MSs to book a room. I was told even tho I asked for a king bed I will not be 100% on getting what I want. I asked what was the point of a reservation if you cannot get the room you are paying for and want. ANSWER, You are just booking a room we decide what to give you and "if" available at that time. WTH????

We liked their buffett best for dinner and want to try 777, but as rude as the lady was at the reservation line and what I was told, I cannot chance a smoking room.

So we are staying at the Plaza and GN. But will play at MSS.

BTW where is the El cotez?
When visiting 777, I suggest you try the black chip porter (my favorite) and the high roller gold (which has received favorable reviews on these boards). The burgers were out of this world delicious. But tread lightly around Goddess Fortuna - she brought Gail nothing but bad luck.

Seems to me that "room types are not guaranteed" is on pretty much every hotel website, or even third-party website I've ever used when booking a room. I think it's a CYA thing, but I've never been stuck in a smoking room. I don't even think I've had a situation where I requested king and got 2 doubles or v/v. Just seems to be a standard disclaimer.

The El Cortez is off Fremont, at the other end of the Fremont Street Experience from the Plaza. Actually, it's a block past the FSE. Don't be alarmed at the "dangerous" walk from the FSE to the El Cortez. Maybe it used to be, but now with the lounges and shops there, it's perfectly safe.

The El Cortez is two blocks from the Fremont Street Experience, but it is on Fremont, at 6th Street.

I boycotted Golden Nugget for several years after they refused to comp my drink at the VP bar. After five years I ended my boycott and gave them another shot. And they have redeemed themsleves. Rush Tower rooms are second to none downtown. Restaurants were great and I even came out ahead in the casino. They've turned me into a loyal patron.
Are they comping you're VP play now?
My mother-in-law has been loyal to GN for decades. She plays quarter and mostly dollar reel slots, generally 8 to 10 hours per day, and I remember a few years ago when they gave her a discounted room and 50% off at Starbucks. I hear that the comps are a little more consistent with the rest of the galaxy now.

I dont know - I didn't play VP at the bar. I didn't want to rip open that scab.
Also, I've learned the best VP schedules downtown are to be found outside the GN.

I kept my GN play on the Craps Table and Slot Machines. Free drinks came fast and with a smile in both cases.
