GN rooms and noise

Planning a trip mid June for serious gambling. Will be there alone and want a room that is clean and QUIET.
My first thought was Rush Tower but I have read lots of reviews that say noise is a problem.
Which rooms would you recommend for a light sleeper.
If noise is an issue, then you need to stay as far off from Fremont street as possible and that would be the "Carson Tower" (a.k.a. - the least expensive rooms). I have also stayed in the Gold Tower which is situated above the check in desk and did not notice any noise.

I have stayed in the Carson tower, Gold tower ,and Rush towers in the Golden Nugget and have never had a problem with noise.
I have had issues with noise and posted them here at The 4 queens and Golden Gate with extream noise.
I dont think you have anything to worry about but if you say you want to be away from any possible noise at the check in counter I am almost positive the Nugget will take care of you!

good luck weggie

I had a messed up reservation once and they gave me what I guess was some kind of 'nicer' room in the Gold Tower. The sign on it said it was the Scarlett Suite I think, but wasn't really a suite...it did have a tub with jets in the bathroom, but it was the tub in the shower, just with jets.
Anyway, the walls there must be paper thin because we could hear everything going on in the hallway & the room next door. (There was a lot going on in the room next door and it was louder than the TV - a party for 2).

You can get away from FSE noise by staying in the appropriate tower, as noted here. There isn't much you can do about drunken idiots in the hallways or in the next room or above/below you except change rooms.
We were in a corner suite in the Rush Tower in September. The noise was awful.

Was that on Friday and Saturday, or mid week as well?

I may have to split up my trip.

BTW, thanks gang, the input has been helpful. I will be paying cash for most of the trip and this month
looks pricey.

Profbac,
I went on the Google earth web site and typed in 129 E. Fremont St. Las Vegas, NV 89101 (Golden Nuggets address) and looked at the over head view.
You can see where the Golden Gate and Four Queens hotel rooms pretty much go right out to the edge of the Fremont street and you can understand why the rooms are so noisy.
Then I looked at the Golden Nuggets hotels, which are behind the casino. The casino borders the Fremont street and the noise. The depth of the casino should keep you from most of the noise.
I am sure you can get a noisy room, but your chances are greatly reduced at the nugget from other casinos on Fremont Street. Again, if you simply ask at the check in counter to be away from any potential Fremont street noise, I am sure they will hook you up.
I have already booked the Nugget for late may and earl June, so let us know your findings (please)

Profbac - It was a Monday thru Wednesday. The music started at 8AM and didn't stop till 2AM. Most of it came from the pool. I liked the rooms at the Rush tower but the noise will keep us from staying there again. We'll stick to the GN itself.
