Our group of Purdue buddies made our 38th annual Vegas pilgrimage Oct 22-25. We've stayed at many places over the years, and this was our first stay at Golden Gate. I booked four Golden Gate Suites, which are essentially junior suites. They include a king bed and a pull out couch. We put 2-3 guys in each junior suite. We also put four guys in one of the two available Penthouse Suites. This suite needed to be large enough to confortably fit our group of 14 for our kickoff pizza/cocktail party and for football watching. It was outstanding for our group. 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a substantial family room with 3 TV's across the same wall, a wet bar with a industrial cooler, plus an outdoor patio (open air on one wall only and to the sky). This patio includes a full size grill, a TV, and a gas fireplace.
While I wouldn't call the place luxurious, it was nice. Most importantly, it was large enough to handle all 14 of us at once plus smokers could use the patio. The two 5th floor Penthouses are both a very short walk to the elevator...........8 feet for us. Plus the elevator drops one off 60 feet from the casino floor.
Since the Penthouse is expensive, our group added all room costs and split this cost 14 ways. This amounted to $402 per guy for the three nights.
Penthouse cost for three nights: $2750
Golden Gate Suite (X4) cost for three nights: $720 each
We also like the small casino, as when guys head downstairs to gamble, they're easy to find when others arrive the casino later.
Great trip but I can't wait until the mask requirement disappears.
