Golden Nugget/Landry's Select Club

Oh, I fully expect them to honor their card. I'm just pointing out the fine print. In my case, they can't even imagine my level of disappointment should they choose to not allow me my VIP check-in and free room upgrade. I'm entitled.

I received my Landry's Select Club card today. I feel special.

So, I got my Landry's card in the mail and also got an email offer from the GN with summer offers. $35 for weeknights and $69 for Friday and Saturday. Called to book and asked about upgrade with Landry card and VIP check in. They said that the upgrade was available with their normal rates, not with the summer special that I was booking. I will still try to get the upgrade when we check in and just make believe I never saw the small print. We'll see what happens.

I had the Spring Special Apr 6th-11. When I got the Landry card. I called to have this added to my reservation. They said I was already on a special and if I wanted the Landry benefits my reservation would be $25.00 more. I said no thank you. I arrived late on a Tuesday night. Show the check in clerk9too late for VIP) my card and asked for my complementary upgrade. Knock my socks off. I was upgraded from Carson Tower to a Junior Suite in the Rush Tower. Very large impressive room with two windows foyer two 42 in hd tv's and super large bathroom. Just book your specials and then show your card when you check in.

Wow, awesome. I presume that someone will eventually send the message to the front desk folks that they're not supposed to do it, but great for you that it worked!

I just booked some nights in August with that $35 special since the offer was about to expire. I don't know if we're going to be able to go or not, but figured that if we can make the dates work it's a great rate, and if we can't go I can always cancel. If the trip becomes a "go", I'll sign up for the Landry's club as well. Not much to lose, and potentially a lot to gain.

Update: I was able to use my Landry's Select Club card to secure a FREE upgrade to a new Rush Tower Room even though I was in on the Spring Special Rate that also included a Free Coupon book. No problem whatsoever. Also used my $25 dining credit on lunch at Chart House....2 King Crab Sandwiches, 2 Lobster Bisques..$8.00 before tip. It's a great dining room too, with its own 75,000 gallon aquarium.

Which check in did you use, alanleroy? We're booked on their summer offer in September. I called yesterday to add the Landry's Select to our reservation and was told that I was booked on a special and couldn't use it. Since the wording on the GN website has changed (no mention of not combining it with other offers) I thought I'd try it at check in.

I just used regular check-in in the original tower because I didn't know where the VIP Rush tower check-in was and I was concerned they would just laugh at me....and point out the fine print on my offer.

I was also booked under the Spring Special @ $39.95 a night (close to that, anyway), Carson Tower.
When I arrived last week, I gave registration my credit card, ID and Landry's Card. I asked if there was an upgrade available with the Landry's Card & was upgraded to the Gold Tower (smoker). It was a really busy time there, so I was surprised.
What a nice room & what a great deal!
I used regular check-in at the Golden Nugget.
