Golden Nugget/Landry's Select Club

Thanks for the updates, all. I'm booked in late August on their summer special ($35/night Su-Th) -- I'll have to sign up for the Landry's club and try my luck.

If anyone else has any experience using the card combined with a special rate between now and then, I'm all ears.
knagl--we just returned from weeks stay in Las Vegas at the Golden on Tuesday May 18th. We received a flyer stating that they had extended the Spring Specail through July yesterday. I read where you booked the Summer Special at $35. We are members of the PA Chairmans Club and always book through them. Did you receive a mailer or flyer on the Summer Specials????

It was part of an e-mail I got on April 13th. It advertised spring rates of $39 and $79 (Su-Th and Fr-Sa), and then the "early bird" summer rates shown above, but you had to book by April 21st. I went ahead and booked a random Su-Th in late August in case we'd be able to make the dates work, and by golly we did -- airfare has been purchased.
knagl--thank you for your reply. The GN is about as dependable as shit when sending out notices. We have stayed there 6/7 times a year for the past 11 years without fail. It seems sometimes we recieve these notices and other times nothing. We have air booked for July--Spet. and Oct. and it helps when you know in advance of these Specials. They alwasy say just call us but this is a bullshiot answer have they forgotten who is the customer as so many others have. I dropped them a note as usual and will reveive about the same reply----they will say have my email address recorded worng---this is a random mailing--or some other bullshit excuse. The GN has done an outstanding job fixing up the entire property however if we did not like styaing downtown they would have lost a regular customer a long ago. The problem is they do not give a shit about the customer anymore as so many others has fogotten without cusotmers you go down the tube in this type business. I will post the answer they send if I receive one.

I checked into the GN last Sunday, having booked the $39/night special rate for the Carson Tower. I showed by Landry's card, but the clerk said they are only allowed to upgrade to the Rush Tower Junior Suites and, unfortunately, none were available. He suggested I try again the next day. When I did, I was upgraded for the last 3 nights of my stay.
Do the membership cards have your name printed on them? We're trying to figure out how to best do this. I'm now booked for three nights (comp) in the Rush Tower, and then we placed a separate reservation under my better half's name for our last two nights ($39/night + the coupon book). Which one of us should sign up for the Landry's Select club?
Your name is on the card. I'd put it in your spouse's name just to be on the safe side.
Golden Nugget also has a Friends of Facebook special that they are running. If you become their friend on FB, and click on the link, you can get $10 off the room rate. Here's the link

Look for them on FB to "like" them first.
Thanks for the info!

So if I'm reading this thread correctly, since I booked directly through GN for my room, at the special rate of $39 for the South Tower (whatever it's now called)....

...with my new Landry's Select card, I'm able to go right to the VIP check in desk, show my card, and they will upgrade me into a Rush Tower Jr. Suite?

I was thinking I'd get an upgrade into the North Tower (which is what I was hoping for anyway), but if I can get into a suite at the new Rush Tower, all the better. I will be checking in week after next for Wednesday to Friday.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for all the info!
