So Mr MLLV and I were finally leaving to go to Vegas, a long awaited trip. As I was finishing packing, the night before I realized something very important was missing my LVA MRB. Oh no ! How could this be??? I searched everywhere, and all I had was the ACG and my entertainment book. As I sat at the airport I also realized I forgot my most important LVA values coupon shirt........

I finally went to sleep around 3 am and slept a few hours. I woke up with a horrible sinus infection. Figuring I could call when I got to Vegas to get something from my doctor. We arrived early to the airport and made it through security. We flew Southwest, I enjoy flying SW. I was in the “A” boarding group thanks to early check in. MR MLLV was in the “B” group due to NOT checking in early. The flight out was non stop and no issues.

We arrived on time to Las Vegas and actually arrived about 10 minutes early. The temp was around 110 degrees. I have to say McCarren was pretty empty for a Sunday. I was a bit shocked as it was leading up to a big holiday weekend.

We took the Bell Trans to The Golden Nugget. The driver sucked, very unfriendly and acted like it was a chore to actually drive us to the hotel. We arrived the Golden Nugget. The check in at the Rush Tower was very quick. The $20.00 trick does not work at the GN, I asked if there was any sort of upgrade and they offered a $35.00 a night rate for a suite instead of the $50.00 rate. I was like no thanks, we’ll keep the room we had but we were given a choice of a high or low room. We asked for the high room. We were put on the 21st floor, in room 226. The hallway was nice with orange lighting and modern art. Very quiet. The room was on the end of the hall before the suite. Very tasteful decorating. The room had rich browns, the bathroom had sliding doors for the whole “Zen” effect, double sinks with modern fixtures, glass enclosed shower with a rain showerhead, stone on the walls and nice tile on the floor. We had a king bed I believed and it was by setra, very comfy. The room was a rich brown and modern art paintings( Try to post pics with the new camera). IT had soft sheets and a real pretty choc bed scarf. Let me state this the first thing we did was drop the luggage in the bathroom and I tore the room apart looking for any sign of BED bugs I forgot to mention. Just in front of the doors was a closet with mirrors, nice, and 2 bathrobes. There was a corner sofa with pilloes and a huge wall length entertainment center with desk. The flat screen was really nice with no movie Channels on it. ????! They had Fiji water available at $7.00 and coffee in the K cup 4 pack for $10.00.. I told Mr MLLV since we ‘ll be getting out water at Walgreens. Might I add Rush Tower is Non Smoking for those out there, or it is a $200.00 fee.

After settling we looked out the window, we had a great view of the North strip from the tower. Beautiful and off to the right was mountains. I did get several pictures.
By then I was coughing up brown /green ick from my chest and had to scoot to Walgreens, the Pharmacy was only open to 5 pm on a Sunday and the store was open 24 hours.

Ok

So after calling the doctor, and getting a prescription for medication I told them of the WALGREENS a few blocks down from the GN. But I had to hurry, as the Pharamast left at 5 pm and it was 4 pm. I have to say we never knew that there was a drug store a few blocks down and it was PACKED. But this was great as we could buy water we needed, soda or snacks. So that was a huge plus.

After getting my medication we decided what were we going to do next? We went over to the FREEMONT Casino. Got a few players cards and met a great lady there. She was issuing the cards, and was very friendly. So we decided to play a bit. Me I am a fan of the pennies. I went one way and Mr MLLV went another. I found one of my favorite machines. It is the one with the flaming diamond or the little bundle of money that dances when you either hit a jackpot or a jackpot. I started by putting $5.00 in. I hit the reels. I put $1.00 in at that time, it hit bonus spin! I ended up winning $22.00! I cashed out. I put another $5 in and started to play, after $2, I hit bonus spin again! Woo Hoo. I was hoping to get this the whole trip, pneumonia or not. I ended up with another $22.00. YAY!!!!

I put another $5.00 in, hoping for another hit. This was not to happen I used the last .25 of the $5.00, and hit bonus spin. WOO HOO, I won $25.00 on it. So for a total of $8.00 I won $61.00!

By then we were hungry, so we pulled out the coupons from the Internet ”FSE”( Thanks so much for the link gang). We got in line, and made it to the register, and was told we had to go back to the players card area to get a voucher. GRRRRRRRRR. So back we went any by then there was 15 people in line. We did wind up talking to the nice lady at the players club who of course had helped us before.

So off the buffet we went, we had a 2 for 1 coupon, with Tip it was about $20.00. It was set tropical, with plants and so on. Bad thing was it was pretty dark in he seating area. Due to my eyesight I got lost once, since the rows dead end at times where the tables were.

There was not a huge selection and it was okay but I have to say it had some on the BEST fried Chicken we have had. They had honey battered fried chicken. Juicy and not greasy. Due to me being on medication, I could not eat anything with calcium. That includes, milk, cheese and so on. So I gave it 2.5 forks.

We then went and walked around some more, They had panhandler characters EVERYWHERE. From fake showgirls to cartoon characters. Many had large buckets out and many had quite a bit of money in them. They were obnoxious at times and others the costumes were just filthy looking.

We went to the 4 Queens trying to get some silver strikes. We walked around and found the strikes. I put a few dollars in and did not get anything so I went to go play the pennies when MR went to the other silver strike machine. I did pretty well, there but I took my clip on sunglasses off and laid them on my machine. After a while I went back to the silver strikes machine, and finally after $20.00 won 1 with a mermaid on it. Mr spent $40.00 and got one. While we were there we ran into the guy who has the silver strikes website, how cool is that?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We chatted and played some slots, and had a great visit.

We went out an then went to watch a few live bands. They were celebrating the 80s. So neat as it was the MTV 80s. There were several live bands but the one in the center of the FSE was the best. They had a large moon with the astronaut and ET bike going around it. The zipline was going strong too. The music for the FSE video on the canopy was fun.

We walked down and saw the girls dancing on the bar of the Golden Gate, took some pictures for friends back home. They had ropes up, due to doing a calander shoot for 2012 . We walked over and saw the "PLAZA" was open and decided we would go Monday to check it out. We were tired by then and were wanting to get to bed. The view was very pretty after dark, we did have strip view. Even if from a distance. After taking more medication I went to bed, we had a big day ahead of us, on Monday. I do not know about you guys, but I woke at night and sat and watched the lights from a distance.

I forgot to add, 1/2 way back up to the room I recalled I did not have my sunglasses. DOH!
I told MR and thought of the last placed we played, and walked to the 4 Qs. Sure enough going to 3 slot machines, there they were on top of the slot machine waiting on me to return. WHEW!!!!!!! They go over my glasses.

Thanks for posting this here, and I'm happy that your sunglasses did not get taken away from the machine that you left them at.

I'm looking forward to reading more about you and the Mr.'s adventures on this trip!
So keep up the good work!
