Help with Downtown Hotels.

I am thinking of staying downtown on my Oct. trip. Right now I am thinking of the cal. or Man Street Station. I have stayed at the 4 Queens Fremont and Golden Nugget. Please send any input on all of the Downtown hotels you want .

elco..old fashioned but great deals and vegas
Although it's not as nice as it used to be (IMO) MSS is better than California.
I do like the rooms at Plaza, but now (this started recently), if you're not on a comped offer, they charge a Resort Fee!

Try the Golden Nugget Rush Tower. Very nice. Very quiet.
We have stayed at most places downtown. Here is our list top to bottom with reasons:

MSS--clean comfy slightly larger rooms. Casino good VP, service.

El Cortez (tower rooms)--large room, clean,

Golden Nugget--nice room but over priced, no good VP

Golden Gate--very small room great for one person

Four Queens--not thing bad to say just others better/nicer

Fremont--yuck!!!

have not stayed at D or Plaza since the remodel.

Hey Champ,

Although I haven't stayed at either MSS or Cal (so I can't actually directly comment on that), are you okay with having Shutters in your room instead of Curtains?

I ask this because I prefer as much darkness as possible when I sleep.

I stayed once at Fremont where they had Shutters and I said "Never Again" (because too much light came in) and so when I found out that both MSS and Cal use Shutters, I then said that this is no good for me!

Coach..doesn't matter to me. When I hit the room its for 1 of 4 "S"'s. Sleep, Shower, Shave or S--- (fill in any 3 letters... or 2 if I get lucky).

I cant remember anything ever keeping me awake at night at any hotel (other than a couple fighting in the room next door at the Paris 3 years ago). When Im ready to crash...I'm crashing..shutters...trains ..whatever!

My toughest deision is whether the rooms at the Cal are so inferior to MSS that its worth it to walk back to MSS after the Luau tourney sessions each night instead of just staying at the Cal! I've stayed at MSS at least 5 times but never the Cal. And thats where the Luau tourney is 8/15-18
