I used to stay there quite often but 2020 's shutdown stopped it and I haven't been back. How is it these days? Are the rooms in good shape? How is the service? As always thanks for the information.

The place looks and feels pretty much as it did pre-pandemic. It's getting a little worn out, though. The rooms are pretty much the same; some could use a remodel.
They've slowly crushed all the good deals they used to offer. The buffet is REALLY bad. And the service is on a level with most other Vegas post-pandemic service--which is to say, it's awful.
Lastly, it's a Boyd casino, and no one should ever set foot in a Boyd casino.
When we have been there to play the last few years it has been a ghost town. Just about 20 people in the whole place and the tables are only open a few hours a week. No idea about the rooms
I didn't go in on my most recent visit to Vegas. They used to have 20x odds on their craps table which made it the best game downtown by far. Not sure if that is still the case.
It's pretty much dead. Sad to see, it had been our main casino from 2006 until their "new and improved" players club. When was that, around 2017? I walked over at 7pm on a Friday night on our last trip, there were only two patrons at the bar. Pit has shrunk, now only open on weekends. Buffet is also dead, but that may be because of a serious downgrade in food, it was pretty much Circus-Circus-in-the-olden-days quality. Damned shame. Not sure what Boyd is going to do with it, they have to be losing money.
Too bad I also have passed because no more LVA buffet two for one. I remember how it was in the 1990,s..
It's so bad, is Boyd thinking of selling it?
They don't seem to care about the place anymore.

You gotta wonder, they haven't done a thing to attract customers. VP is lousy now, players club is garbage. There was a favorable review of the buffet in this month's LVA newsletter, I just can't agree with that. Last visit (yeah, about 10 months ago), the food was really lousy (beyond just sitting in the steam tables for hours for lack of traffic). I haven't heard any rumors of Boyd selling, but I can't see how they're making any money on it now.
Very strange on the reviews of the buffet as after seeing many reviews on YouTube they all give a very good rating.
Anthony just did a review and gave it praise.
i would try with a 2-1 coupon but no reason for me to go down there otherwise,

I have eaten the buffet there for many years. While the current buffet might qualify as being praiseworthy, by today's standards, it is but a shell of what it used to be. The last two times I ate there last year, I went away sadly disappointed. I won't eat there again until they improve the buffet, which I doubt ever happening - Boyd has screwed up every thing that used to make Boyd a great value.
