LaBayou/Mermaids

What kind of comp drinks can you get just for the tip at these places?. Rumors suggest strong drinks, fast service so more details are needed.
SUPER FAST service. I mostly get beer. have seen mixed drinks not sure if they where top shelf booze but they looked strong by the color
I have never actually gamboled at the Le bayou but have a small amount of info that might help.
I discovered the Le bayou has Daiquiri/margarita machines in the very back of the casino (cant see them from the street). Due too the heat in Las Vegas and my liking of cold rum type drinks, I decided to try one and ordered a banana daiquiri in a plastic football shaped container. It cost $16 and all refills are $8.
I actually pack the plastic container every time I go to Vegas to save the $8 on refills and have been back for many, many refills over the years.
Anyway, the first time I ordered one (new years eve (2001) they asked me if I wanted an extra shot. I said sure. Trust me on this......never agree to the extra shot! Its like 4 shots! they just stick the plastic vodka bottle in the football and squeeze it! I made it to 7:30PM and passed out in my room missing new years (wifey was unimpressed)
The biggest drinker that I ever knew ordered a nuclear kamikaze (blue drink) the same night with the extra shot and only made it to 9 pm and passed out right on Fremont street!(so I was told!) again, his wifey was not impressed either!
The drink is usually made by a hot, leather clad bartender with big boobage......which doesn't hurt either!
My point to your post is that they make a good drink, at a good price, which to me means they take care of their customers. so, if I had to guess I would say they will take care of you while your gamboling!
No idea if the have top shelf stuff?
Let us know how what you find out

I agree that you shouldn't get the extra shot...It costs me a whole evening also about 10 years ago!

When we gambled in there one night with our kids, the service was fast but drinks were extremely weak. Could have just been that day the barkeep was a tightwad or wanted to keep liquor costs down so he could put more in your daquiri for a toke. The waitress was nice. These were regular comp drinks for playing machines, not those gigantic daquiris for sale.
Did they ever get TITO in there? I haven't stopped in at either place in almost 5 years because you had to use the bucket of grimy coins with the machines. Maybe I'll check it out next week.

That is one of the two reasons I go there
Based on my experiences over many trips, the mixed drinks are very strong. As far as I know, they don't offer top shelf liquor. In fact, in my screwdrivers, the vodka has been the cheapest of cheap vodkas.

Drink service is fast, and the waitresses are ecstatic for a tip of $1-2. If you stay for a while and tip them consistently, they'll make sure you're never empty without even asking.
In Mermaids, you get beer in small (8 ounce?) cups. The mixed drinks I've had there, I usually can't finish, because they are so bad. I do second the idea about being cautios on the LeBayou frozen drinks with an extra shot. I did this one trip, was enjoying my drink and feeling good. Next thing I remember, I woke up in my room. Luckily I had a family member with me that apparently got me back to my room when that drink kicked in. The next day I was at the Casino Royale when I overheard a man on the phone telling his wife that he and his buddy had "an early night" because they got this frozen drink downtown that kicked their ass and knocked them out. I smiled, knowingly.
Well anyplace that serves deep fried twinkies or oreo's is just the place for me to get top shelf booze. I still think the free beads is the best of best deals.
