Lady Luck construction (Pics)

On Monday, I drove by and noticed they had started tearing down the front wall. In addition, there's no old "Lady Luck" signage visible at the top of the tower now. I took these pictures in the late afternoon earlier today - before then, there were workers up on lifts ripping down the walls. The interior appears to be completely gutted - that's what they must have been doing over the summer.

Just thought people may be interested to know something is actually going on. For years, they would only ramp up activity whenever they applied for an extension of their permits (to make it look busy when the city/county officials would come by), but this time it looks as if the work has begun in earnest.
One more, with a better overall view. They repainted the towers this spring, and really kind of started cleaning this area up.

Another thing most people didn't realize was that the Mob Bar (formerly SideBar) was the entity that kept the gaming license alive for Lady Luck. SideBar was a tiny bar next to the Triple George with a few bartop VP machines. I stopped in there once, and noticed that when I received the credit card receipt, it said "Lady Luck" as the business. I haven't been to the renamed "Mob Bar" yet, so i don't know if it's still the same.
Thanks for the update and pictures.Nice to see something going on there.Personally,I wish they would have left Lady Luck the way it was.
Thanks for the pics!

Wow, so it might actually happen this time! Fingers crossed...

Exactly what is that Celebrity place? Is it a bar, casino, lounge or is it closed? Ive walked by it a dozen times, but I could never tell what was going on (and was a little nervous to find out).

It's called Celebrity Theater, but it's been closed for at least 5 years. It's apparently going to be a new pizza place, according to today's LVRJ:

Building of 'authentic' neighborhood lays groundwork for Downtown Grand
When are they looking to reopen?
According to the article, late in 2013. Unless you're referring to the pizza place, in which I'm guessing late 2013. No work looks like it's been done on the Celebrity Theatre, but the walls are all torn off of the old LL. Peeked in there yesterday, and it's just a shell of a building now.

The thing I found interesting was that you can now see all of the old catwalks on the ceiling. I've seen them in a couple of other old casinos before, and I find it interesting to imagine the surveillance people long ago leaning over the rails with binoculars.
