Landry's Select Card - Question

Does anyone know whether you still get use of the VIP check-in and free upgrade with the Landry's Select Card when used in conjunction with the Golden Nugget?

I checked their website, and they don't mention this benefit which I believe was a selling point in previous years.
I was in Las Vegas in late May and asked, as someone else had not seen it on their website. As of late May, the VIP check in is still a member amenity. I will be there in Aug. (my reservation confirms VIP) and will inquire again. If anyone goes before then, please post back with an update.

Per their website (under exclusive offers):

"Landry's Select Club members enjoy exclusive rates at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas

Rush Tower rates $79 (Sun-Thurs) and $109 (Fri-Sat)
Now - June 30, 2012.
Exclusive Landry's Select Club rates also available for Carson Tower and Gold Tower rooms.

Your stay includes 2 Show Tickets to either Gordie Brown Live or Country Superstars Tribute.

bu$hman....

It appears that the "...Plus, Landry's Select Club Members receive a Complimentary Room Upgrade with VIP Check-In*" no longer is shown on the Golden Nugget website. Regardless, I will play dumb and say it was still active when I booked my trip. I will let you know after I come back (Mid July 2012).

Please do let us know. The quote I put up was not from the Golden Nugget's site, but Landry's Select site. Regardless, I am hearing various responses as to whether us special Landry's Select members get it or don't get it. I do know, however, that my confirmed reservation does have it. More important than that, I want a complimentary upgrade. Landry's site states you must book through them (seems to be the same number you will see on Golden Nugget's site) and to mention you are a member. I do look forward to what information you can glean on this matter. I will be out in LV in early August. Have fun. Envious of you, I am, to be going so soon.

We checked in last Friday night (6/22/12) with a reservation through Landry's Select Club and our reservation stated we could use VIP check-in and get a complimentary upgrade upon availability. Well our flight was delayed and we did not arrive at the GN until midnight. VIP check-in was closed for the evening and we were told the Rush Tower was completely sold out (we had reserved a Gold Tower room, which was fine, just hoping for the upgrade to Rush Tower).

We did get the free tickets for Gordie Brown Saturday night but they could have given away many more - I don't think the theater was more than a third full! It was a good show though, especially for the price! I used my Landry's Club dining credit along with the $25 birthday reward at the Chart House, very good food and beautiful atmosphere. Good Luck and enjoy the GN, hope you get the upgrade!
Worked for me in mid may
Just got back from my stay at the Golden Nugget. As indicated above, you need to make your reservation through the special phone number to use the VIP access ( I am not sure you can obtain the same discounted room specials by using the special Landry's phone number). Regardless, we checked in on a Saturday afternoon around 3 p.m. and there was nobody in line, so it was not a real problem.

We were given an automatic upgrade from the Carson Tower to the Gold Tower room. Now, I have stayed in the Carson Tower many times and the room in the Gold Tower seem 99% identical. So, unless you really need to be closer to the casino action, I am not sure paying the extra money would be worth it.
rkorbyl, thank you very much for all of the updates. Much appreciated. Glad to hear you got an upgrade. Hoping for one, myself, two weeks from this Sunday.
