looking to stay downtown

I also like the El Cortez.Still downtown but away from the noise and the madness. Also easy in and out of the parking structure if you have a car.

You have to plan for noise exposure there, too, unfortunately. Rooms that face Fremont Street (or in that general direction) get blasted by the noise from Container Park as well as the stuff coming from the FSE. On the weekends, Container Park and neighboring bars don't shut their traps until 4 am. Weekdays, you get to go to sleep by 3 am.

The go-to play is the Cabana Suites, across Ogden from the ElCo proper (it used to be called the Ogden House). One block further removed from all the noise and madness. The rooms are kind of weird but comfortable.

We've stayed the the Golden Nugget, Plaza and El Cortez. I loved them all, for different reasons and didn't find the noise to be an issue at all. Our favorite is Ele Cortez, the vibe there is right up our alley. And everyone is so nice

Just spent 2 at El Cortez last week before moving to 4Q for another night.  Have previously stayed at the Queens a couple time a year, I may be done staying there as the El has better, cleaner, quieter rooms.  Only difference was no coffee pot in room, but the coffee in room at the Queens sucks anyway.  Easy access to FSE using back roads an additional benefit, not to mention only one block from the Donut Bar.....

A quick call to ElCo housekeeping gets a Kuerig coffee maker and a few pods sent to your room...

Stayed at The Downtown Grand 4 times. Great rooms. Ask for a "quieter" room, higher up.The gamble is not so good there, so we usually walk over to the Elco for BJ action.

Decent food at the "Beat" diner and at The Triple George.

No coffee in room, no little refer..Great pool area!

The other place that we stay is The California(Boyd's).

OK(9-6) video poker and good craps/BJ.I'm not a coffee drinker.

Lappert's ice cream and Ethyl M's upper floor mezzanine area.Sky bridge/

Walk way to the MSS, when they open! OPEN?
