Loving Downtown!

I love downtown and go about every 4-5 months. I usually stay at the MSS, DG, or El Co. I'm interested in hearing more about the Chart House happy hour in the Golden Nugget. It sounds good, but I've never been there before. Some of my favorites are:shrimp cocktail at Dupars, prime rib special at Seigl's in El Co, pizza at Pizza Rock across from DG, all food at Carson Kitchen and Eat (both located on Carson which is one block parallel to Fremont Street). I love talking about food and love to hear recommendations.
I keep meaning to try the Chart House happy hour, but always end up eating a full dinner. Grotto has a nice happy hour, too. All their pizzas are eight bucks.
Check out the Nugget's page, they got a bunch of happy hours. I enjoy the sushi place for a quick bite too.
Also if you sign up for the Charthouse Landrys card for $25. Every year on your birthday you get a $25 voucher (50 the first year). Great deal.
I also like the Grotto HH pizza.

We've not been downtown much for a couple of years. I've not seen some of the new or renovated casinos. Our favorite for gambling has been Main Street Station. In fact our favorite thing to do downtown is the daily slot tournament at Main Street. The preliminary rounds and final are all 20 minute sessions (or were). Get a lot of the need to push slot buttons out of my system. I've never tried zip-lining, so I'm tempted to try that...
Downtown has really turned itself a round. Not sure what you're into. Food? Gambling? Show options are minimal. I like Main Street Station & El Cortez because they've $5 double-deck Blackjack that pays 3:2. My wife loves the bar at Main Street Station to play video poker and quick access to their fantastic craft brews. Smoke cigars? Vatos in Binions are great, premium smokes, but they sell more traditional cigars (Fuente, Romeo y Julieta) as well. I dig the slot selection Binions, 4 Queens and Golden Gate has (ie. old school Monopoly slots you can't find anywhere else). I don't think you'll be disappointed. Food options are decent on Fremont, I like eating just off Fremont St. Experience at Le Thai, Glutton and Eat. That said, the old school steakhouse called "Top of Binions" is a nice treat, but I think there are higher quality & selection at the Golden Nugget restaurants. Regardless, i think you'll be amazed at how much further your gambling dollar goes downtown.

You're right, chart house has a decent happy hour.

I want to make sure that the group knows that unless things have changed, I have previously read that there has been a deal for Auto Club (AAA) members where they can get a 10% discount off of everything (except for alcohol) at Chart House by showing them your Auto Club Card (although I don't know if that applies to Happy Hour deals). So do check into that!
