The last time I was there a sign at LVC players club said they've moved to Plaza's players club. I didn't want to walk further so I didn't go but was this a temporary arrangement or is this so called move more permanent?
Who can tell with that place... No hotel, no restaurants, no players club. I never see anyone playing machines...but their tables do ok. Still, I dont know how they pay the bills.
I would guess this is permanent. They just don't do enough business to justify paying an employee to sit at the players club all day. If you don't want to walk to the Plaza, sometimes the change people could go to their computer and do things like issue a comp. However this was a couple of years ago, so I don't know if they still do.
Who knows? This could be a permanent thing. When I was last at LVC in March, the club had been moved from where it had been (which was across from where the former Gift Shop and previous mini-arcade), over to the Cashier, but maybe that was taking up too much of the cashiers' time.
And so the move to Plaza could very well be permanent since people are already there and they may be better able to deal with Slot Club stuff.
Quote from a Plaza Casino Host "Due to some changes and restructuring Las Vegas Club Royal Rewards Center (LVC RR Center) will be open only on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays from 2pm to 10 pm. So, it is actually not closed entirely. Once the restructuring is accomplished look to see the hours to increase once again."
Don't you know we all would love to see "restructuring" at LVC - unfortunately it's gonna take somebody with plenty of cash and a great downtown business sense to pull it off successfully. From recent reports it looks like the DTG is trying to turn things around also.....
I doubt you are going to see any serious renovations of the LVC hotel anytime soon. Downtown Room capacity still seems to be much greater than demand. Take a look at prices for downtown hotels on Expedia. They seem to be lower than ever - even as downtown seems to be more popular.
Even Golden Nugget is giving away rooms. I hardly play there at all and get massive discount room offers every month.
I'm surprised Golden Gate still keeps their hotel going...especially now that they own the D. I would have expected them to do something similar to 4-Queens when they acquired and shutdown Binions hotel. I cant imagine their $18 rooms are making them any money.

I just got back from a visit and at least for the most part when I was in LVC, I didn't see the Slot Club operating. So this means that you can do all Slot Club business for LVC at Plaza's Slot Booth including using the Freeplay at Plaza instead if you so wish.
