Magnolias - 4 Queens

I generally stay at the 4Q at least twice per year, so I eat a fair amount in Magnolia's. Perhaps it's because I tend to eat when it's not crowded, I've never had an issue with the service. I've eaten a lot of different things on the menu, and the only entree I've ever had that wasn't good was the broiled seafood platter (although I'll add that if you get an entree that comes with the vegetables, stay away from the carrots).

If you get anything more than a sandwich, it comes with soup or salad. I've had several really good soups there.

Like most coffee shops, the portions are huge. The food isn't fancy - something to get you in and out in a hurry, with a belly full of comfort food. Prices are reasonable, and they give out twofers like crazy.

It's one of my favorite coffee shops.

+1 .... well said mckenztf
I have also seen posted other food values there for Four Queens Slot Club Members so you can check into that as well (if you're already a Slot Club member)! I would guess that you probably need to show them your card.

I eat at Magnolias all the time, I try to get there for breakfast and always order oatmeal with strawberrys and bannanas, it's always good and dosen't mess up your stomach like meat, later on I'll stop by for lunch and get one of the salads that cost around 8 bucks and the salads don't mess up your stomach like meat and in the evening I might try one of the specials, I always liked to eat in truck stops and that is what Magnolias food reminds me of plus they have a constant crowd of people eating there so I think it keeps the food fresh.
The wait staff is nice, and are fast so you don't have to mess around all day to get something to eat,on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest, I'd give Magnolias an 8!

Thanks for all the reviews! Looks like Magnolias will be our quick bite/early dinner before heading out Friday night..

Thanks!
Marko..

I have never had a bad meal there either and have always had good service. Even when they were busy.
My favorite places to eat downtown: Magnolias, Dupars, El Cortez Cafe. All three always good.

My wife is a Reuben Sandwich afficianado and really likes the Reuben at Magnolias...With a 2fer its a very good dining option downtown. We will be there again in August!!!
The menu is kinda smallish and the food is average quality. You can get some good specials and the prime rib is a great value. The best thing about the place is the location above the casino.

There are better diners downtown - head over to the California for a better experience.
I agree with pj's assessment although I have only had the prime rib at the Cal but I have had many items at Magnolia's. I would give the Prime Rib special at Cal the advantage due to the salad bar. In addition to the salad, I can put cheese and bacon on my potato.
