Its still currently closed with no official date for reopening. Speculation is that they are waiting for Hawaii flights to fill up again before opening....and they also get significant business from Asian countries many of which have not opened up traveling yet. SO there's that.
I honestly dont understand the hesitancy. Hotels are regularly getting 80% occupancy right now. I cant imagine MSS would have trouble filling rooms.

I've only been able to find Vegas hotel occupancy data through April. These are ball park numbers.
Jan 30%
Feb 40%
March 55%
April 65%
I wouldn't be surprised if occupancy rates are currently running around 80% as PJ suggests. I won't be there until October, and it'll be back to normal by then.
Opening isn't the biggest issue, it's finding staffing to meet customer service that's the problem. With MMS waiting so long, it will be harder to find quality workers. The rest of LV is already having this trouble.
I just read in the latest adviser that Boyd does not plan to reopen their buffets. I can't imagine staying at MSS without being able to enjoy the food in the Garden Court Buffet. I don't understand how they plan to keep people in the casino if food is not available. I also enjoy the 777 brewpub but they don't have the room to handle all the people that want to eat when the casino is busy. Same thing with the Paradise Buffet at the Fremont not reopening, where is everybody going for a meal?
Boyd properties said losing buffets were bad for bottom line and bad for shareholders. Idiots dont realize they draw people to casino where they get most of money back. Without buffet i doubt it survives if it opens.
Reason they cannot find workers is people are happy with umemployment with 300naddtonal and 3600 for each child. Back to welfare state. Casinos are not full i had offer of four free nights from aaria and never stayed there. People wiil put up with the high prices forcawhile but not long. Wait until the newness of the vegas wakeup wears off. They now have certain resturants adding fees.time will tell but without vhange on buffet status doubt people will go where there is no where to eat. They dont want a 100 dollar buffer as at MgM

I think their overall strategy--and it IS a coordinated strategy, since the casinos collude--is to gouge gouge gouge gouge gouge for now, as much as they can get away with, relying on gambling-starved tourists to put up with high prices, shitty service, and lots of things still closed--at least for now.
It's the corporate mentality--again. They want to inflate their bottom line, NOW. They either don't realize, or don't care, that all this violent screwing of their customers will have a huge negative impact. When people return home, sweaty and exhausted, from feeding their Vegas jones, and look at their credit card statements, they'll think twice about returning for another ass-whuppin'.
NO ONE should visit Vegas right now. No one. Huge crowds, overpriced everything, and to top it all off, a record heat wave. Why on earth should anyone bother?

I wasnt as big a fan of their buffet as many. I went to MSS for their craps table which might have been the best in the city with 20x odds and the good field bet. If that goes away then so will my business
Just received a flyer from Boyd in the mail today with offers for September/October with a big picture of Main Street Station on the front. It doesn't say that it is reopening but they must plan on it this fall.
