Main Street Station, The Cal and the Fremont all charging a resort fee now

The downtown Boyd properties are now charging $14.99 resort fee.

I guess the 4 Q's is the lone holdout.

I just have to wonder how long people will put up with resort fee's. You're paying for something that you'll most likely not use. And I believe once you leave Vegas because of all the extra cost, it will be a long time before anyone returns. Too bad, it was a nice place to visit.

At least for the time being.

The gouging continues......

Not sure where this came from but I went online to check dates for this year and next it did not say anything about a resort fee except for the other Boyd properties off strip.

I hope this is only a late April fools joke.

It is!   MSS does NOT charge resort fees!

How was yanking your chain?  GREAT place to stay and it's kind of Down town.

Good gaming and food.  I'll call it the Boar's head bar is excellent for good beer and flat tops.(9/6)

Maybe I'll be there in October, but life gets in the way.

IOleg and crystal. ALWAYS stay there.

The Fremont is too smokey, even for me!

The D is too frikken' loud and the DTG has lousy(VP) games, but great music,if you like the long-hair bands from the 80's.

 Add a smile,here.

Sorry but it is no joke....some said they emailed and confirmed that it is happening

Possibly it does not begin until April 16?  Not sure

One man emailed the CAL and this was his answer....

Yes, Downtown is now charging a Resort Fee of $14.99 plus 13% tax. At the Cal, it includes, in room Wi-Fi, Shuttle service to Sam's Town, Access to the Gym and Business center. In room, safe and in room fridge. Thank you

Likely if your rooms are comped the fee will be waived as it is in the other Boyd properties.

Look at the discussion at VMB

FYI: Resort fees starting at Cal, Fremont, and MSS

In other words, the rip off "resort" fee gives you nothing that you used to get for free.

Its all marketing.  Instead of charging $60 for the room they charge you $45 dollars with a $15 resort fee.

TJ MAxx will sell you pair of jeans for $20.  Kohls will stock the same jeans at $40 and put them on sale at half off.   But ultimately its the same price, right?

The resort fees dont bother me as much as paid parking.

The last time I was there,my buddy parked the rent-a-racer in the lot across from the California for 3 bucks.

After a bit of trouble,he got his 3 bucks back, eventually.

I have used the shuttle to get to Sam's Town and I gave the driver a buck.Catch it at the Cal Valet entrance.

I went for the Young At Heart deal on a Wednesday,I believe.

Slide your players card at the kiosk and get maybe 2 to 5 times points for that day's session. Cool.

The MSS Y.A.H. promotion is for locals only! What?

The MSS comes with a free little fridge. Not at The Fremont.

I stashed my Mt. Dews and beer in there and my leftovers.Cold pizza is GOOD!

The resort fee is ignored,if you get a comp room. The same with the Downtown Grand.

I wonder if the rates for the 4 Queens will go up or stay the same.I like to play VP there.Cocktail service is good !
