I hear that the Motherlode machine has been removed from Binion's. That is really unfortunate because that was the main reason I played there. You could play a while and earn nice perks from that machine....freeplay, meals etc.
Sad.

Sad.
It was a good promotion in the beginning...plenty of free play, cash, promo chips and not too much food.
But in the last couple of months, it was mostly food and/or cheap prizes. The last 9 swipes my wife and I had (that's 18 altogether),
we had 17 food/prizes and a single $5 free play.
I ain't sad its gone.
I had a different experience ....I got lots of meals in the coffee shop and 50 and 30 dollars freeplays on my last visit there.
I am one who is sad about this, it was incentive to me to play there. One day all 3 swipes were free play, can't go wrong.
I also will miss this game. I was there in September and it was broken. We cut short our usual play. I often got free play and food. Sometimes it is the small things in life we enjoy not all of us our high rollers.
I've used this promotion on almost every Vegas trip; sorry to see it go. I've talked to a Vegas local who is very savvy in getting the most out of casino promotions/comps. He is very upset that he and his friends play at Binions a lot and no one to his knowledge has every won the top prize. He filed a formal grievance late this summer with the Nevada gaming board concerning the possibility that the promotion was "rigged". About a month later the Mother Lode machine was "down for repairs" and now it is gone altogether....coincidence? I have not been able to talk to this guy since September; if I see him in Vegas next month I'll ask him about what the gaming board had to say. Maybe Anthony and LVA could inquire exactly why they suddenly pulled this promotion which was very popular with us downtown gamblers?
Wow....I hope your friend's complaint wasn't the reason it got pulled.
I was happy with the free meals and freeplay!
Too bad its gone--I play there frequently and always got some free play . I guess I will not play there as much--I seem to have better luck at MSS-get quite a few 4OAK's and the drink service is great .
If something is a free promotion and it does not pay I would not complain about it for that could be shooting the golden goose. When you get a free pick at Station or Boyd at a Kiosk, now many times do you get a small thing. Lots. I suspect there must be a certain amount of good winners programmed into it but I always thought it was not random on each pick like a slot machine spin who knows.
If I owned a hotel and had a promotion that gave away stuff in addition the the chance of winning in the casino and someone complained about it I would pull it also an chalk it up to ungreatful clients who do not realize the promo is just an added experience to the visit.
Anyone think the Pirate Game promo free plays at Binions is not rigged? Someone will complain about that and it will be gone also along with the free spin at Four Queens...
Let me point out that the Mother Lode was not a "free" promotion. You had to gamble/risk your money in order to accumulate enough tier credits to qualify for promotional spins i.e. earn 40 tier credits and earn two spins for various "prizes". If the casino advertises a top prize of say, $2500, and then sets up that no one will ever win that top prize.... is that fair/honest? The Person I mentioned in my previous post and his friends are locals and play at Binions A LOT and have never won or heard of anyone winning the Mother Lode's top prize, hence the complaint to the gaming board. MSS has their scratch card promotion for video poker and the vast majority of people win $2, BUT people have won the top prize of $5000; it happens a couple times a year. If a businss advertises a promotion shouldn't it be "above board"? If the promotion was truly free (no risk on my part) like the free spins in front of Binions, the 4 Q's and the pirate promo slots and they rigged it so that no one won the top prize I guess I wouldn't care so much, but the Mother Lode was a different situation. By the way, I have seen people win the top prizes at both the promo slot spins in front of both casinos.
