I randomly picked a date for my next trip to Las Vegas a few months ago and after the fact found it that it was motorcycle weekend in Las Vegas, September 30th to October 2nd.
I am not a bike rider personally, but I figured while in Rome do as the Romans do, so I checked into it a little and here is what I found so far. If anyone can add to the weeks events please chime in.
#1 The Golden Nugget is advertised as "motorcycle weekends main head quarters", which is why I posted this on the fremont Street message board. Most everything I have read about the motorcycle related events will be held at the cashman center, which is advertised as about a 5 minute shuttle ride from Fremont Street. The shuttle ride will cost $5 or free parking if you have a rental car.
#2 Fremont Street itself is having a few motorcycle related gambling events. For example, The Golden Nugget is having a $50,000 ride the roll craps tournament ($100 dollor buy in), they are having a $10,000 slot tournament ($25 buy in), a motorcycle themed poker tournament 5PM friday night (9-30), and a few other tournaments at other casinos. Most of the buys in's are free if you pay $25 and sign up for the events for the cashman center at the Golden Nugget.
#3 They are raffeling off a motorcycle at the Golden Nugget and the Golden Gate. You get entries for the drawings by playing at those casinos and earning drawing tickets. Its a $15,000 motercycle, $15,000 cash, or $15,000 non negotiable playing chips
#4 The Fitzegeralds casino is having a "poker walk", which means you basically you start at the Plaza and walk from one casino to another on fremont Street picking up playing cards and when you get to the fitze, you show them your hand and see if you win. I personally get a kick out of things like this!
#5 The Harley shop on "the Strip" is having a wet t-shirt contest from 6PM to 7 PM, Friday the 30th for those of you that are interested in the strip offering to motorcycle week.
#6 If you are interested in the cashman centers schedule of events go to https://lasvegasbikefest.com/ for more info.
I am sure I missed some events but this should get us started.
See you in a couple of weeks! weggie (next trip - Sept 28th to Oct 5th)
