MRB coupon at Cal buy one entree get one free question?

Does anyone know if the MRB coupon at the Cal for buy one entrée get one free would be good for "specials" such as the $9.99 prime rib deal or the $9.99 oxtail soup? Or does it have to be the regular menu items? I'm hoping to use my coupon for either the $9.99 prime rib or $9.99 oxtail soup.

We used the 2015 coupon in December and asked the waitress the same thing. She said it was good for any entrée up to $15. We both had the prime rib special--it was excellent and the cashier had no issue cancelling out one of the entrée prices. The second time we both had the soup and salad--also excellent, also cut in half by the cashier.

We had never been to the cafe before--we would usually go to Magnolias--now we will go every trip, at least as long as the coupon runs. We had two excellent meals, service was also very good, and it was half price.
My wife and I tried that deal with the MRB coupon like three years ago. We enjoyed it so much It's one of our regular stops every year now.
it is a nice café. my friend had a steak breakfast special and I had a tuna salad sandwich, we shared and it was all good. this is one MRB coupon that you don't want to overlook -- you should make time to use it.

I forgot that I posted this question, just noticed the replies, maybe I should put down the bottles already (ha-ha). Anyway thanks for the replies. I'll be there in March and will probably use the coupon on the $9.99 prime rib special to get the most bang for my buck. Meeting some family members there.
Now need to take coupon to players card booth, they exchange coupon with form to give to cashier.
I'll be traveling alone on my next trip. Does anyone know if I could use it to eat-in for one meal and have the other to-go?

yes, I have done that with no problem. they shouldn't question you, but if they do, just tell them that your partner is upstairs sleeping or something like that. they should only care about their tip.
I used my coupon on the oxtail soup ($9.95) and my relative got one for free. The oxtail soup comes with rice, ginger, and cilantro. The meat was very tender. It's not a healthy dish by any stretch of imagination but it sure tastes good.
