MSS: VP Points different per machine??

Was reading a trip report and they mentioned that different video poker machines at Main Street Station earn points at different rates. I wasn't even aware this was possible. I thought slots earned points at one rate and all video poker earned points based on coin in at a different rate.

We usually play at the main boar bar and play quarter 9/6 JoB. Am I playing the wrong machines for video poker there?

There are set of VP machines (near valet) parking that points are gained at a different rate. The machines are marked with a sticker that it takes X amount to earn a point.
I think that the VP machines by Valet at MSS are $3 of Coin-In per point vs. $1 of Coin-In per point at the Bar.

The VPinsider.com and VPFree2.com websites have more information on this.

That is very interesting (and a little disturbing). Here I thought I was all set finding a 9/6 JoB machine and being good to go.

Thanks for the responses. After 20 trips I am still learning that there is still much to learn.

Yes, it's in your best interest to do what you can to find out as much as possible about the casino's slot club and the good machine locations. This is where VPinsider.com and VPFree2.com come in to help players.

Although I'm not sure if both bars are giving the 1 point per $1 bet or just one of them is. Who here knows the answer to this? I actually haven't played at MSS in several years. What I previously said was based mostly on what I have read on VP Message Boards.

Confused. MSS only has one bar (Boars head bar)!

However the only machines that are $3 a point is the bank of 12 by Valet and the bank of treasure chest machines. All other machines give $1 a point.
I am not sure I am understanding this correctly.
So in easy terms:
Should I play at the bar or at the Treasure chest machines?
If you want to play 9/6 JoB-- play at the bar near the buffet. Also there is a bank 9/6 JoB machines next to the wall facing Main Street near the middle entrance (about two rows up)
Perfect. Thank you.
(Trip less than a month away)
Treasure chest machines $3 a point
Bank by Valet $3 a point
Boars Head Bar $1 a point
Every other bank of VP $1 a point

I don't care where you play
