The new CIRCA Resort and Casino

it will probably be just like The Grand and not attract much gaming action but a lot of...."watchers" and loiterers....

So my consense is that after 12 months of operation The "Circa" will be closed or immediately sold after going in chapter 11. I have serious doubt that they will be able to make ends meet unless they can help shut down operation of Binions and Fremont and perhaps some other downtown operation.

I don't know.

I think the Stevens have a better handle on how to attract gamblers.  They have always had an excellent "mailer program". Better than a lot of the other properies downtown.

Every two months you get a flyer with free nights, free play, free food, free show tikets etc (dependant on your play of course.)  I think that goes a long way towards creating a loyal clientele.

I can only assume the new place will have a similar program.

The strip gets half its revenue from the sight-seeing crowd oppossed to the gamblers and can charge their outrageous Disneyworld rates as a result.

The downtown hotels need to appeal to the gamblers...even Golden Nugget.     I hope that dynamic remains true with the Circa.   If downtown starts to go the route of the strip then Vegas is going to really change for the worse IMO.

WE ALL HOPE THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN!

Maybe in a couple of BJ tables, but not all.

I wonder what the resort fee will be with Circa! I'll guess the highest, downtown.
