New open container law

Has anybody seen how the new law about the open containers has gone. How are they handling it when you leave the casino with a drink do you have to pour into a cup do they supply them etc.
Not sure when it was implemented. When i was at at the Container Park in April they had a guard standing at the entrance stopping alcohol from leaving the grounds. He said booze sold on the Fremont St area was fine to take around under the covered area...just dont leave that area. Im not sure if thats the law or the parameters by which they are enforcing it.
Most of the fremont street casinos have cups on a table next to a recycle bin. with a posted warning to pour your beer or drink into a cup.
At Golden Gate I saw stacks of new solo cups placed strategically near the door exits to accommodate anyone wanting some self-service of pouring their bottled drinks into those plastic cups. And at Vegas Club I heard the bartender informing customers that if they intended to go outside that he could provide plastic cups for their drinks.
