NYE on Fremont

We went to NYE downtown last year and had a blast.  If you stay somewhere that is not fronting the Fremont laser overhang, you can get away from the crowd when you want to.  We stayed at The Downtown Grand last year and were able to get away from the crowds and go gamble, etc during the evening.  You just have to show your wristband to get back in whenever you feel like it.  The casinos along Fremont are very crowded during the entire night.  Main St, California & Cortez offer the same chance to go in and out.

I would love to do it one day.

Did it once.   That was one time too many.  Nevermind you cant get in a legitmate restaurant - we waited 30 minutes in line at Subway.  The crowds are that bad.

I didn't think the spectacle was worth the hassle.  Just a bunch of fireworks.

Yes....I guess you almost need to get a fridge and hoard food in your room in order to eat.
