Parking at the 4Q

I have a trip to nevada in late September and I am staying at the Four Queens for the "no resort fee" rule. In planning out the details of the trip in advance I figured I would would be able to park my solid gold rental car (at the price i am paying I figure it must be solid gold...) at the Four Queens for free, since that used to be the policy at most places for registered guests. But I went to the LVA website parking section and it didn't say anything about the Four Queens. Puzzled, I looked at the 4Q website and saw no mention of parking. I called the place and the operator said they have self parking and valet for only $3 per day for registered guests, $2 per hour for other folks. She described it as the cheapest parking downtown. I guess that may be so, but it ain't free! No resort fee but you pay for parking. Damn, those accoutants are sneaky!

I need a car rental despite the cost as i am spending 5 days in LV and ten driving north with a stop over in Hawthrne to spend 4 days visiting my brother who now lives in Reno.

Oops, I must apologize for the previous posting. I forgot to mention Keto, which everyone knows has to mentioned in all the postings!

I would tell that casino: "4Q! And the horse you rode in on."

I realize you pretty much have to bend over and take it, given that you've made plans well in advance. The drive to Reno is awful. Hawthorne is a total dump, surrounded by miles and miles of high explosives! Makes you want to flick a cigarette out the window as you leave town.

As you drive "The Whorehouse Highway," beware of the following speed traps:

1. Goldfield. This little toilet of a near-ghost town has a stretch where the speed limit drops to 20. Deputy Dawg will be waiting.

2. Tonopah: the speed limit drops from 70 to 25 instantly as you crest the hill south of town. You can only slow down that quickly by throwing out an anchor. And of course, there's always a county mountie lurking just over the crest.

3: Tonopah: you will get a ticket if you go 27 in a 25 (the whole town). Not making this up. I got one.

4: Hawthorne: when you are still NINE MILES south of town, you come across an inexplicably placed SPEED LIMIT 45 sign. Sheriff Joe is waiting just on the other side of a little hill for when you're unable to throw out that anchor in time.

5. Walker Lake (the town). Round a curve and find the surprise SPEED LIMIT 45 sign. You have a prayer of seeing this one in time, but it's still a big revenue generator for the county.

6. Mina and Luning. These two almost-ghost towns have a 20 mph speed limit--and cops lurking behind buildings to remove whatever money you managed to save from Vegas.

I have received six speeding tickets in my life. Five were on the Whorehouse Highway. I will NEVER drive that highway again. Fuck rural Nevada!

4Q parking is free for hotel guests.   They give you a pass at check-in which you then show the parking attendant at exit.   You have in/out privs throughout your trip.

Agree with Mannydogpro.  Four Queens is a favorite with the free parking, central location and most importantly, no resort fees.

I'll take Carson to Maryland Parkway (runs parallel to strip) and use that to dip in and out of the strip to avoid LV Blvd traffic and I 15 spaghetti bowl traffic.

I am only passing on the information the operator at Four Queens gave me. This must be something new on their part, as shee repeated the cost she mentioned when i asked "Is this even for registered guests at the 4Q?" I think the LVA folks should check on this and if it is true, add that bad news to the parking fees info page. Also, after deep thought when I was trying to get to sleep I have decided the hell with it and I will NOT rent a car this trip. I will use the bus to get around, visit fewer places, but save a bundle. I gt a cheap ticket on Southwest to get from LV to Reno, and my brother says he or his wife will let me use a car while I'm up there.

Parking always used to be free at 4Q for registed guests.   Since they are so "player friendly" with pretty much everything else, I can't imagine that they would nickle and dime their hotel guests that way.  It would definitely be worth making another call to 4Q.

I just called the 4 Queens and asked about this parking situation. I was told that if you have a players card and are staying at the 4 Queens, your parking is FREE. All that is required is showing the Front Desk your players card upon check in. If one does not have a players card, it is a simple exercise to obtain one, just go to the slot club and sign up.
