Pasta Pirate @Cal closing this weekend

VegasMessageBoard had a post making reference to this. OpenTable isn't taking reservations after the next couple of days.
No!! Their shrimp scampi is the best I've ever had. It's been a short 5-year tradition for my January visits, using(of course) the MRB 2 for 1 coupon.
Wow.First the Flame, and now this. Not everybody likes to eat at buffets.
We always stay downtown, but we won't be able to eat downtown. The Flame and Pasta Pirate were the best. This is terrible!

Its being replaced by some Asian noodle joint. I wonder if it will do as well as the one at Downtown Grand.

Sometimes change is not good

I might be the ONLY one who thinks this is a good idea. I've been going to Boyd downtown for 15 years and it's the SAME....RESTAURANTS...EVERY....YEAR....

Finally something different! Let's prey Tony Roma is next...
Well, Tony Roma's would be a welcome closing for me, but I have been going to the Pasta Pirate for at least 20 years. I will miss it, though must admit have not been there recently. Went to Redwood Grill instead. Given their huge Hawaiian clientele, I suppose I'm not surprised they would go with a noodle place. Maybe it'll be good, too.
I've eaten everywhere at the Cal except the Pasta Pirate. I wanted to try it, but I always wound up eating somewhere else like Market Street or Redwood. I don't like Asian food so I won't be patronizing the new place either.
