Plaza - high and low lights

Thanks for the report.Sounds like the Plaza did a good job with their renovation. Will definetly visit on next trip.
Great run down on the Plaza. I was looking forward to check it out in a few days. I found it odd that they have a more mature wait staff on the casino floor.
"#10 The youngest drink server at the Plaza had to be 65 years old (no shit- it was awfull!)"

I noticed this too. I didn't mind the age - I did mind the outfit. One of the server was over 70 and might as well have been topless for as much cleavage as she was showing. I didn't need to see that.

One more thing,
I could'nt keep my wife out of the little gourmet cup cake shop in the Plaza. It's right where you walk into the casio on the far left. If you dont pay attention you walk right by it.
Regular sized cup cakes were $1.50 ea, and smaller bite size were 4 for $4.00. Great treat!

We're elderly, we're here, get used to it.

A group of my friends just returned from a 7 night stay at the Plaza. They really enjoyed it. I was afraid the renovations would make the place feel different, but they assured me the casino still has the same "ambiance" lol. The drinks are still cold and tasty, the Omaha Lounge and sportsbook bar are still there, and they still have less than ideal video poker paytables. The rooms have been spruced up. Bathrooms are still tiny, but that is not an issue for me. And the new dining venues are good - they really enjoyed the Hash House.

I am really looking forward to my stay in July!

My wife reminded me that she had to call room service for a hair blower and an iron. They were free, but were not in the room when we got there. I am not sure if this was a housekeeping mistake or policy.

I don't know if I've seen either in any of my rooms there (at least recently) and so maybe the only way that you'll get them is if you ask directly for them.

When I stayed at the Plaza in Jan. my room's safe didn't work, it had no hair dryer, iron/iron board, luggage rack I called housekeeping the second day and then later saw all that sitting outside a room a couple doors down. My guess is they never did a final room check as in years past this stuff has always been in the room ( except the safe). Seems like a number of rooms didn't have it.
My safe worked. Didn't have anything to put in it, though.
