I am considering gambling at the Plaza, if they are sending room offers to their gamblers. Is anyone knowledgeable about whether they offer comped rooms to their players? Any information would be appreciated! Connell
Just before I went in June, they sent me an offer that said they would match my best offer. I had two free nights and $200 in free play from Treasure Island. They matched it. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten a similar offer again. Oh well.
They seem to have tightened up since the remodel. A few years ago it was easy to get free rooms (inc. weekends) and plenty of free play, but lately, most of the offers are good for a free weekday room and discounted weekend stay plus some match play.
Unless you spend a majority of your time at the Plaza (or win a lot of money), they dont offer too much for the average player.
With that said, I still enjoy The Plaza and always have fun.
Have stayed a couple of nights at Plaza in our trips the past 3 years. Just like to stay downtown for a couple of nights and then move to the Strip. I do get offers, typically not emailed. I check the players rewards site and it shows what's is new. However I just called today and asked for 3 nights. They said yes you have a new offer that will cover that. It will not show up on the players site. A bit confused but it works. I think it also has $25 per day free play.
You can call players service and see if they will help you out. I do know that they match players cards. Diamond total rewards is equal to a king in the plaza system. The player number is 877-687-5875.
Keep in mind you will get two $10 matchplay's in their funbook in addition to some other resort discounts. Personally I like staying at the Plaza but the casino is not very player friendly - nor do they have good offers for loyalty.
The "D" will hook you up with better mailing offers. El Cortez's mailed offers are crap but if you have a decent playing history the hosts will hook you up.
A couple weeks ago I got a mailer for three free nights - including weekends - out of the blue. I called to reserve 3 nights during March Madness and had no problem; they even waived the resort fees. The mailer also said I could use the offer multiple times between now and March 31, but that if my play doesn't justify it, they can cancel later uses of the promotion. Here's the weird part: for the last 2-3 years, the only thing I've played at the Plaza is matchplays and free slot play from LVA/ACG or low cost ($5 or $12) poker tournaments. Kind of the same thing happened at Hooters 2 years ago. I'll never understand how casino marketing works.
