Plaza Parking

I know this month's LVA says that parking is now $5 and you get it back at the cage. That is not true August 6th we pulled in to the parking garage the attendent asked if we staying at the hotel. I told them no we were just downtown for a few hours. He told us it was $5 and non refundable.

I parked and went inside and was told at the slot club that was the new rules because to many downtown employees were parking there for free.

She then went to a host and got me my $5 back.

When I was at Plaza between Sunday, June 20th and Tuesday the 22nd, when I came in on Sunday there was a sign that said $5 Non-Refundable Parking but I immediately told the attendant that I was checking in since I was actually staying there and they let me go in) and didn't charge me.

By Monday morning the 21st, the sign had been changed back to saying $5 Refundable (at the cashier) parking.

I hope that this stuff is not going to continue!

But maybe they are doing the Non-Refundable stuff for weekend days (when more people are around) and not for weekdays (when less people are around).

For those looking for a place to self-park downtown for free near the Plaza, the Main Street Station parking garage (not the surface lot, but the garage next to the casino) is always free with no attendant on duty.

The other day I asked my Plaza/Vegas Club host Emily Fitzsimmons (who is also the corporate Casino Services Manager for Play LV Gaming Operations, LLC) about the parking situation now at Plaza (since someone here on the boards very recently mentioned something about the $5 parking charge) and this is her direct quote to me: "In regards to parking....if you are a hotel guest, parking is free. If you are not a hotel guest and still play on the casino floor - we can sign the parking receipt in order to receive a refund."

Doesn't the Cal also offer free parking?

If things haven't changed, I think that they offer a limited amount of Free Parking (something like 3 or 4 hours) with a validation on your parking ticket that you receive upon entrance to the lot (at least that was the way it was a few years ago).
