From what I'm understanding, at least for machine play they are looking for about at the very least $1,500-$1,600 of coin-in per day for a room comp.

I don't know if this is the way it will remain at Plaza.

I have to believe it will be higher at the Plaza. I think in the old days, the standard was $2K/day at the Plaza. Maybe they'll keep them easy for now to lure people in - I'll find out in a little over a week.

I'm no expert on the subtleties of marketing, but I think the parent company is really trying to differentiate the Plaza from their other properties. The Plaza's website has a totally different look and feel than the Las Vegas Club's site. There are no links to the LVC's website on the Plaza's website, and if you go to the LVC's site, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to see barely visible links to the Plaza and the Western. Compare that with Boyd, Station, and Caesar's sites, which have a consistent look and feel, and which make it easy to navigate to siste properties.

I don't think this is an accident, although it could just be that during the construction, they wanted to draw attention to the work being done there.
Really glad the Plaza is giving itself a face lift. Next trip I will give them a little more action now that there is somewhere I would actually stay and eat.
Even though the old Plaza was decrepit, you could still see a lot of the old '70s opulence. I wonder if any of that will still be visible.

The pictures are gorgeous, though, and the new lineup of restaurants will add a lot of choices downtown.

When the Plaza closed a year ago, I was fearful it would follow the Lady Luck story with the endless rumonrs of re-opening, but it never happening. As a long-time Downtower, I am deeeeeelighted!!!

Wow, so excited to see her in November. Great photos for teasing. Thanks
Yes, thanks for the photos...looks very nice...will definitely give them a try...
I didn't really look at all the BJ tables but I did play a $25 DD game on Friday night. It is now a pitch game with the same rules as before DAS, DA2 no RSA, NS. I'm pretty sure the 6D had both shoes and CSMs.

The blonde waitress is still there. Some fixtures haven't changed. lol. The rest of the waitstaff looks to be changed out with a newer, more well rounded type if you know what I mean.
Went in the plaza this morning as I am in vegas. Loved the new smell when you first walk in.
Hash house will be opening on the 31st per the signage. Subway is open but McDonalds is still boarded up but all the signage is still there si it will return. They did replace ALL the lights around the driveway as was all the ligghts going up the building both front and back. They also have a new controller system for the lights so the blink in sync. Now I don't know if its just me but when I put in my players card it showed I had a zero balance (I then went accross the street to LVC and they said I had a zero balance even after playing at the Plaza) so I don't know whats up with that. Bingo has also moved back but I didn't go up the new escalators to check it out.

One side note, the reason I am in Vegas is my parents just had birthdays. Dad is 80 and mom is 65 so I got them 3 nights at MSS. I guess good karma DOES exist as after checking in and dropping the bags I went to the casino and on mmy first $20 I hit a progressive on a ballys bounus 777 machine for $1011.84!!! So tonight I bought them tickets to Love at the mirage, first time they ever saw a cirque show and loved it. Now if does work I should hit the progessive on the lions share at MGM
Congrats..........

Enjoy your stay and hope your parents have a memorable time.

Concerning your points earned at the Plazza not showing up at Vegas Club....it never shows up the first time you put your card in at the other property. If you pull your card, and put it in again, your points will show up. I don't know why, it just works that way.

Nice hit on the progressive!
